“What an AMAZING experience at Lakeshore Learning! As a CDA student studying with Mr. Jermaine, through QS2, I had the opportunity to visit Lakeshore as part of our CDA learning experience, and I can honestly say this was so much more than a trip to a store. It became a real-life classroom!

Mr. Jermaine challenged us to look at materials differently and think about how the things we select can support children’s development, creativity, independence, and learning. Being able to walk through the store, explore materials, and connect what we have been learning in class to actual classroom resources made the experience unforgettable.

And JOY was absolutely AMAZING! From the moment we arrived, she made us feel welcomed, supported, and genuinely excited to learn. Her kindness, knowledge, patience, and energy added so much to the experience. She didn’t just help us shop. She became part of our learning experience.

This was a monumental moment in my CDA journey because it reminded me that becoming an early childhood educator isn’t just about completing 120 hours or earning a credential. It’s about learning how to intentionally create environments and experiences where children can thrive.
