I both dropped off a car from here and then later picked up a car from here. Both times, the transactions were relatively quick and fuss-free. They don't have many cars at this location but it is very convenient to me because I can access Metro North before or after renting. Both cars were clean and full of gas and paperwork was processed quickly. The Budget (and Avis) counter is on the same level as the Metro ticket counters, just across the way past the bus area.

The people who work there are very nice. However, I can't rate this any higher because I've made 2 reservations, confirmed the reservation, and at the very last minute they canceled the car.

Must have been the fastest and easiest rental ever. I booked online to get discounts and cheaper daily insurance. Try autoslash you can add in all rewards programs (airlines, AAA, AARP, etc). The location easy to find with quick and friendly service. No complaints.

If I could give -5 stars I would . I don’t know where to begin . The incompetence is out of this world. The fact that this location is even still Open befuddles me. Came one day their were no one in the office for hours , charged my credit card charges that should not even had been charged. The vehicle wasn’t sanitized or cleaned. The two guys that are there seem to be very nonchalant and worst customer service ever.

The car that I rented was clean, I received good customer service from Elijah, who answered my questions and calmed any concerns that I had about my rental, easy check in and drop off.

They had a car available for me via internet but when I went to the office they had nothing. I was sent to thee other site 5 miles away with no means to get there, that trip alone cost me $25.When I arrived at the other site they only had a pick up truck. I'm glad I'm able to drive any vehicle otherwise it would have been a total waste. Oh and the second site was located at a service station, those guys were not very pleasant. I will rent from budget again but when I do I will contact the local office directly to reserve my preferred car.Oh the first site was located at the New Rochelle train station. I had to go there to return the vehicle. These guys made it quick and easy.

Don't ever Pre Pay for their services. They have a ridiculous cancelation fee that costs more then the rental, So they will not give you any money back. And they will charge you more if you try to modify the date.Tried to cancel my reservation less than an hour after making it due to unforeseen changes from the military. And their customer service offered no way of helping.

This will be the second time I have used Budget Car Rental for my car rental service in NY and by far they are the best. The cars are great, the service is amazing, they are my one and only car rental service!

***COVID-19 ALERT!!! BEWARE***Be cautious and alert to the dangers of this establishment!! My rental vehicle was filthy, but most concerning UNSANITIZED!!! After inspecting the car's condition on the outside I jumped into the rental and started to pull out of the garage and that's when I noticed it. As I turned my head to face the rear of the vehicle I saw pet hair all over the passenger, driver, and back seats. The hair was everywhere. There were paw prints caked into the upholstery of the back seat and dirt on the back rest. The car reeked of cigarette smoke. Then that's when it hit me. This car has not been sanitized according to COVID-19 guidelines. I thought, this is definitely a COVID-19 violation. My boyfriend said, let's go speak to the attendant and I said, the damage is done. If we were exposed to COVID it was too late to do anything about it. I had already adjusted the mirrors, seat and touched the steering wheel. It almost ruined our weekend-get-away. We hoped for the best and drove off. Honestly, I was livid. I was not in any condition to speak to anyone at Budget at that moment and I decided to call on Sunday. On Sunday I had a brief conversation with Mohammed. I told him of the deplorable condition the car was in and he said we can discuss the matter upon my rental return. Mohammed was not available when I returned the car. I made several unsuccessful attempts to contact Mohammed for 4 days. I left a message with, I believe his name was Harris, but I did not received a call back. I was left with the option to call customer service and spoke to Ivan. Ivan was very polite and understanding. He took my complaint and gave me a case #353 080 00 and a credit of $30.00, which was the best he could do. That doesn't even begin to cover the horrible experience we went through. We made an effort NOT to think of the possible exposure to COVID, but the thought was always present. It's not how we intended to spend the weekend. I believed and TRUSTED Budget to hand me a clean and SANITIZED vehicle based on the information found on your website, "Budget has partnered with a coalition of experts to enhance the cleanliness and disinfection of its rental facilities and vehicles ". NOT A TRUE STATEMENT!! That was definitely not the condition my car was in - disinfected. Do you know what your actions, or should I say the lack of could have done!!. You put our safety at risk and not to mention the safety of anyone we came in contact with. It's UNACCEPTABLE!! I am going to share my experience on social media, Google reviews, Yelp, etc. and file a complaint with the NYS department of Health. The public has a right to know what to expect when they rent a car from Budget. I will make sure they know. I am very, very disappointed with the way this very sensitive matter was handled and unsatisfied with the outcome.

We had a great experience. The owner of this place is excellent. Knows how to do his job well and will be flexible to make something work for the customer - he helped us find a car that we desperately needed in a creative, efficient way. The best!

The positives: for NYC car rental this location is super convenient and in the train station, they have nice cars, and the prices are often among the best in the Tri-State (especially if you use Costco, AARP or other discount). The negatives: the cars are not cleaned adequately and also they will charge $25 for cleaning fees without documenting the issues. And the car often is not filled with gas. So I suggest cleaning the car ahead of time, especially during the winter, or be prepared to write a letter to Budget to ask for the charges to be rescinded. Serious lack of professionalism in my point of view, but would be 5 stars if this was not the case. I will come back, but with my guard up.
