Whether it’s New Rochelle Toyota or a local used car lot, the grift is the same.
There is a very common scam among used car dealers. You find a great deal online, you call to discuss, verify the numbers, and then make the trip to see the car. Sometimes you drive 2+ hours like me. Then you arrive and the dealer tells you, “sorry this one just sold!” or “that car was in an accident” or “the person you spoke to for hours earlier today didn’t know the status.”
Then they try to see you a different used car that is nowhere near the same value, or in my case, a new model, even if the sticker price is $15,000 higher.
When you find a good used deal online, be prepared to walk away immediately. Because as soon as they tell you something other than “here’s the car exactly as we discussed,” it’s game over.
There are millions of used cars. Good ones from good dealers. Don’t get swindled into buying a different one because they lured you through the door with a phony listing that doesn't exist.

Had an appointment for an oil change. Called the evening before and morning off and was told it will take 60-90 minutes. Upon checking in, I was told it will be 2-3 hours, or more. Sadly, I wasted my time.
