Are the products good? Sure. Save yourself a miserable experience and just order online though. Just figured it was by my office so I’ll click and collect. I asked the “greeter” a question and he just stood and looked at me like I had two heads and the chick behind the counter was snarly and miserable to put it lightly! Asked the same question about my order and instead of even making eye contact she just kept doing what she was doing and then exclaimed “I KNOW” when I asked again assuming she didn’t hear me given the absolutely zero response or engagement. Sheesh. Lighten up. Definitely don’t be in a customer facing role that’s for sure. On 6 Feb 2024.

Now this, this right here is a store to shop at. Cristal and her team are an absolute delight, not only did they help me into a pair of comfortable work shoes but also provided the means of keeping them clean.

What a great place to be with a shop. Exactly 0 m from Times Square. On the Broadway lot of musicals left and right is a good selection of shoes but didn’t find what we wanted to have a good service around.

TLDR: check what they're charging you for before swiping your card, and the salespeople are uncomfortably aggressive.--Terrible custom service. As a local, I imagine the staff here puts up with some interesting people/situations, but that's no excuse for providing poor service to genuine, returning customers. The salespeople here are very pushy. During my first visit, I tried on one pair of boots. I didn't love the silhouette, so I opted to keep browsing. The salesperson kept pushing the boots on me, trying to get me to make a purchase even after I expressed disinterest. I then found a pair on sale that I liked. I was told my size was out of stock, and the full-priced item was my best option. I decided to leave, but before I could, the salesperson said, "well... let me double check if we have your size in the [sale] boots you wanted." They did, and I decided to buy it. At the register, the salesperson said they were going to "give" me heel guards to help break in the boots. "That's so kind! Thank you," I said to them. When I got home, I received an emailed receipt. The salesperson CHARGED me for the heel guards! I then went to the Aldo website and saw they offered an additional 25% off for the boots I JUST bought. The promotion was only available for online orders, so I placed an order to save $40.I went back to the store to return the (more expensive) boots and heel guards. I was greeted by a salesperson who asked why I was returning the boots, to which I said, "I got a pair somewhere else." His reply? "Tell me you didn't go to Steve Madden!" What an awkward and unprofessional thing to say. As they were walking me to the register, they pulled the heel guards out of my bag and told me, "shoe care is non-refundable. Take this back." I was taken aback. I couldn't return the heel guards I didn't even ask for! BEWARE OF THIS! THEY WILL CHARGE YOU FOR THINGS YOU DIDN'T ASK FOR.I was asked for my receipt at the register by a different salesperson who couldn't have cared less. I opened my email, found an Aldo receipt, and showed them my phone. They very matter of factly said, "you can't return this" with no explanation. When I questioned why, they said with a condescending voice that my receipt was for a purchase in December then proceeded to count how many months ago that was. "You can't just return shoes from 5 months ago." Clearly this was an old email. A true salesperson would have simply suggested I provided the wrong receipt instead of giving attitude. I located the correct receipt, and they processed the return begrudgingly.I have spent years in the retail business myself, and I understand having "bad days." The service at this Aldo is a new low, and I'll be taking my money to a different store -- despite living up the street -- just to avoid the poor service and the scam!

Each and every visit is a shopper's delight in that the customer service is upbeat and accommodating. The staff is very attentive to your needs and also make additional recommendations if one type of shoe/sneaker is not available in your size at that moment. A1+ service always available at the store on West 42nd Street between Seventh and Eighth Avenues.
