Love the place. I was here for production week. It was a great experience. The equipment available was suitable for first-timers to learn on. Definitely taking other classes here when I have time.
Founded in 1972, DCTV has grown into one of the leading documentary production and film education centers in the country. A community of and for documentary filmmakers located in a landmark firehouse in NYC’s Chinatown, DCTV is a unique space where community screenings and discussions, youth media and continuing education programs, and affordable production resources all exist side by side with award-winning documentary work. DCTV’s film and television productions have been recognized with 16 Emmy Awards, 4 duPont-Columbia Awards, 2 Academy Award Nominations, a Peabody Award, 6 New York Emmy Awards and accolades at film festivals and competitions around the world. DCTV is currently under construction on a cinema dedicated to nonfiction.
