Great shop for Indian men's and woman's clothing. I needed and outfit for a Diwali party and the owner, Saroj, styled me perfectly! Located in the Artists and Fleas market, I highly recommend.

Saroj gifted me one of the most beautiful shopping experiences today at her shop in the market. She was patient with me, invited me to try things on, then shared her story about how the shop began & how her and her late husband built their business. Her story is touching and beautiful, and her fabrics and pieces are so unique and one of a kind. I encourage everyone reading this to go support her business and spend some time getting to know her! What a gift!

I have no idea where this pic came from but it's not this place. I called before coming and got VM so we decided to drive 3 hours to get the fabric we needed. We thought they went out of business because we couldnt find this store front as in the pictures online. It is in a market place. We walked around and saw the woman in the picture and realized this was it. All they sold was scarves. Really...3 hours for this, we were so disappointed. I do not know if they have another shop as she didnt mention this to us.Very disappointing.

The Dress Shoppe is an anomaly in a city where purchase is priority. In the Dress Shoppe, communication, enjoyment, came first. You were welcomed and could spend a long time looking, trying, and asking questions, even being invited for tea. There were days I needed company and the simplicity of hand made things, of silk of many colors, of a human voice. The most beautiful treasures in my home and wardrobe come from this shop. Both Goyal and Saroj were friends to us all! The magic of a true marketplace will vanish.

This place is a true New York gem. When you step inside, you truly feel like you've transported to a shop in Delhi. The collection of items here is incredible. And the woman, Saroj, who has run the shop for over 40 years with her (now late) husband is such a kind human. I'm truly sad that this place is no longer going to be around in 2022. It's just so special. Do yourself a favor and carve out a chunk of time to visit this shop and spend some real time sifting through the incredible items. You won't regret it!

Beautiful shop! Do yourself a favor and visit this shop while you still can! It is a treasure trove of vintage and artisan pieces; one of those shops that defines NYC. Saroj is very helpful, and for all her troubles somehow maintains a positive outlook. It is also the only place I trust to buy incense- hand rolled and all good pure ingredients. Even if you just go in to look around, it’s well worth it!

What an amazing store and even more amazing owner. It's a pity to see such a quintessential place close its doors but I guess all good things must come to an end. SUPPORT HER ONLINE STORE if you want to own the best Indian clothing around.

Shopkeeper was so kind, and we enjoyed all of the amazing vintage fabrics that the owner’s husband got from indian Villages. The prices are also really good and affordable! You should come here before the store closes permanently

This incredible store is closing at the end of the year after being in business for decades. Woman owned, I came in to purchase a Lehenga for a wedding. The owner was lovely and extremely helpful in helping me find the right outfit. She has beautiful vintage pieces and gave them to me for a generous price considering the detail and craftsmanship. Please go and support her while she is open!

Please support Ms Goyal now! this is a woman owned business! Found out about this place through NewYorkNico. If you have an Indian wedding coming up, need to buy gifts for aunty or uncle, or want to spruce up your place with handmade, imported table runners, toran, and more - this is your place. Noticed she has a particularly nice variety of formal kurtas for men, perfect for special occasions. She's offering good deals and offers to help you find exactly what you're looking for.

What a beautiful shop and the owner is wonderful. May she be blessed. She lost her husband yet gained a world of love and compassion. Be blessed.

Beautiful products, and the most amazing female businesswoman with a touching backstory and a backbone I’m envious of. Sending love and light to Saroj!
