Wonderful to spend some quality time in NYC with my young adult sons, and I was pleasantly surprised to enter Michael’s boutique store and be warmly greeted by both Eli and Michael.The product offerings were very aesthetically pleasing, unique and practical (son, not father, knows best).While I personally appreciated the jewelry and clothing, hands down the space and accompanying courtyard provide a necessary respite from the hustle and reclamation/renaissance to our collective roots.Kind regards,Jonathan

My partner and I visited Hotoveli for the first time last week and were met with wonderful service from Eli & Steve who guided us through the store, explained the histories and significance of every piece we touched, and made plenty of recommendations for both of us based on our interests, sizes, and preferences. My partner and I both walked out with some beautiful, one of a kind clothes and had a great time meeting some lovely, passionate people. Can’t recommend Hotoveli enough!

Ordered a pair of sneakers from them that were never delivered. Although you are buying high priced items to be shipped they do not require an actual signature which to me is weird. I called this morning to get an update as UPS confirmed all documents had been sent to the shipper and was greeted by the nastiest woman ever. I started with Good morning, how are you and she responded who is this? I then repeated Good morning how are you and she then said As i said who is this? Someone like that should be picking up phones not only being rude but a complete B****, especially when your dealing with someone who has been out over 700.00$ with no shoe or refund and its been over 3 weeks at this point. I WOULD NEVER EVER ORDER HERE AGAIN AS CUSTOMER SERVICE IS TRASH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Happy to have them in the neighborhood as a go to staple for some of the best curated footwear and clothing period. Even through the precariousness of covid, they were incredibly kind and patient as I made my selections. Most definitely will be back sooner than later.

Great service and extremely rigorous and knowledgeable staff. I interacted primarily with Steve and Michael, and they were both wonderful. I had some sizing questions that were handled well both via email and in person, and the styling tips and ideas they each had while trying things on were really helpful. Would happily return and hope to do so when we can all fully enjoy the new outdoor space. Also, goes without saying, but the curation at Hotoveli is absolutely top notch. Don’t sleep!!

This was my first experience with Hotoveli at their new location in Brooklyn. After making an appointment online, Steve the sales associate followed up by asking if there were certain pieces that I was interested in seeing. Those pieces were waiting for my upon my arrival. This is where the fun began.In addition to the pieces that I wanted to see, Michael the owner of the shop and Steve started pulling additional pieces they felt suited my style now that there were seeing me in person.Their judgement was incredibly on point! Every piece they pulled for me was a winner. Their knowledge of the brands they carry was inexhaustible. Their inventory is like a work of art.They listened to what I was looking for to add my wardrobe. They matched every request I had and also expanded my knowledge of brands, styles and materials.It was a perfect shopping experience. I left with a few of the pieces I had seen on the website and some that were additionally presented to me in person as well.Thank you both and I look forward to seeing you again.

Rudeness at its best. I visited the other day. Don’t know if it’s because I came after school so I dressed down with no makeup for my comfort during the day. The moment I stepped in, the women (an old white lady, need I say more?) inside greeted me with her gloomy glance. As I was looking through the collection, she was following me and kept questioning me what I was looking for even after I told her I’m just looking to see if there’s any interesting items, it’s a leisure for me, not a mission.

As I was looking through the collection, she was following me and kept questioning me what I was looking for even after I told her I’m just looking to see if there’s any interesting items, it’s a leisure for me, not a mission.And then it gets weirder, she started to announce that “oh this one you picked up is not on sale, that rack is on sale”, and kept doing it. Excuse me? Did I ask you about it? What’re you indicating?It was humiliating asking for her help when I was trying things on, “why don’t you just try this first to see the size before you look into other items of this brand?”, the amount of grief and shades she threw at me was uncalled for. I’ve never met this person in my life and she was so ready to give me a hard time. I left pretty soon after, she looks almost excited when I was on my way out, the old guy at the cashier seems nicer but he’s ignoring all of these, so guilty accomplice.Combined with my experience later this week at Atelier. It seems that this is the problem with these boutique stores, they hold exclusive items by these designers so this “buy it or not, I’m not gonna serve you, I’m doing you a favor for selling it, you gotta beg me” attitude is everywhere. But seriously? Is that even necessary? Where did all these boutique stores find all these terrible human beings? Do they need to go through special training? Nobody is asking you to treat them like a queen, but a simple nicer manner would be much appreciated, because no matter how much I love an item, at the end of the day, I don’t “need” that piece, and I definitely don’t want it if it reminds me of some unhappy memory.This is still retail business, it doesn’t hurt to be nicer to costumer, it also doesn’t mean anything when a costumer comes with not looking like a supermodel or ready to go to a gala at Whitney museum. What should there be an invisible dress code for an apparel store? Seriously all these boutique stores, check you attitude before you go to work ok? Make it easier for both of us cause I want to love you guys, and you guys are making it very hard? Now everyone needs to suffer a bit, including Uma Wang.
