Today Sam the manager decided to approach me and my mom and accuse us of stealing, i felt so uncomfortable as a black women with everything going on so i just had her refund everything. when she asked for the receipt she didn’t even bother to actually look at the receipt, how ridiculous is that! i drove to wegmans and got everything i needed, better quality items and better customer service. you will never find me shopping at aldi ever again.

I always go to aldis, but today was a different experience. i usually get in and get out, as fast as i possibly can as the store can get very overwhelming very quickly. today i had a gift card and didn’t realize i couldnt use it at self checkout until i had asked an employee. she told me to tell the employee at the check out and that she would assist me. the woman at the checkout was cashing out other customers so i had panicked, not knowing whether to interrupt or to just wait. i just stood there for a good 30 seconds waiting for the right opportunity, and the previous woman whom i had asked about the gift card got upset with me and raised her voice. it was super embarrassing and left me feeling completely flustered. i didnt mean to cause any stress to the employees, as i work in retail and understand wholeheartedly how upsetting and frustrating working in this area can be. but i also know there are better ways to handle a situation like this, and this wasn’t the right way.
