i had the HSBC card before it turned in to Citizens bank and the service just went down the hill. After being a customer for more then 15 years, i had to cancel my credit card today. I had fraudulent charges for 3 billing cycles and i had not noticed, since i basically used this card for everything. i called them up to get it all investigated and the agent was super rude treated me like i was at fault or i was lying. They refused to give me credit until the process was investigated and 14 days later they sent me a letter telling me i had to provide proof these weren't my purchases and they wanted to know if i had tried to resolve the issue directly with the company that was making the charges. i don't even know who the company making the charges is. i called and they kept telling me i had to speak to this person and that person, and email this letter here and there. so i just gave up and lost $151 and cancelled my card. i don't need all that stress, especially considering how much money i was spending and paying monthly for its use. never again will i won any credit card or anything relating to this bank.

POOR customer services and untruthful statement made by the bank branch teller. Late of Feb. 2024 about 4pm,, I went this bank branch to withdraw cash out of my check account with citizens Bank, Niskayuna, NY ( the branch closes at 5pm during regular business days), a female teller told me that she did not have that amount cash as I needed, and asked if I could come back another day, I replied no problem and I understand. She ensured me that she would have enough cash for me next day after I confirmed with her. The conversations was witnessed and heard by another bank worker, whom I believe was the branch manager. The following day, I showed up the branch and encountered a male teller and also, the possible branch manager. This time the male teller told me that he did not have the amount of cash I needed and asked me to use their ATM, he could give me whatever the differences of ATM could not give to me. Also, the teller told me that I should have called the branch ahead of time to reserve the cash. After I told the male teller I was in the branch and made the request in person with a female teller the day before repeatedly. As I told the male teller the branch manager witnessed the conversation between the female teller and I about reserving such amount of cash. the branch manager told me to leave, because I pointed out that their miscommunication and mismanagement should not affect customer services As result, the male teller went inside and took out the total amount cash what I want to withdrew without asking me using the ATM.

I was standing in line about 10 mins ago waited my turn to use the ATM .. one of the tellers brought people from the counter over to talk to someone on the ATM they budged right in front of me after I had been waiting. He could have just put them in line behind me but he put them right at the ATM . I left without withdrawing money. I left very upset . I have been banking with Citizens bank for about 10 years and never have I experienced anything like this . My husband has also had issues with this same teller. This branch is the closest to me but I’m really considering changing banks now. Thanks for listening .

The lines are long, with only 1 person taking care of everyone. Lately I've been getting fees to death. Plus I had to wait on hold for at least 45 minutes just to tell them I lost my credit card. They've really gone downhill fast!!

They have definitely gone downhill over the years! The lines are long with only 1 teller taking care of everyone. I withdrew $ from my checking account, when I checked my bank account online they had charged me a $12.00 fee for no reason!! I can't wait to find a new bank to get away from this money pit!!

Worst Bank and poor customer service... Be aware!!! I made an external transfer having enough money in my account. They then tacked on a $3.00 service fee for the transaction, and that service fee brought me down to a negative -$1.00 and then they charged me an overdraft fee for their service charge of $35.00.... I then called the branch and the customer service was horrible and told me they could not reverse the $35.00 overdraft fee for the $3.00 transaction fee they applied. Go elsewhere if you need a bank. This is more of a scam then a real bank. Hopefully the BBB will be able to handle this situation being the Niskayna branch is incompetent of handling their own situation.
