I visited CVS pharmacy on Saturday, February 10 2024. Pharmacy manager, very nice young lady, was very helpful with my wife prescription pickup, she applied "pharmacy discount" and explained to my wife everything my wife was asking about prescription and insurance coverage.

Pharmacy is understaffed (assuming management's fault, either local or corporate), but the people working there were making the best of it and being very helpful. RPh Laplant is knowledgeable, willing to answer questions, and was very efficient giving vaccines.

Literally the worst CVS in all of Schenectady. I’ve never had issues at a CVS until I moved here and started using this location. Multiple times they’ve claimed my child’s prescriptions are not in the system yet other stores seem to have 0 issue finding them. Today I needed to pick up a med for my child and was basically lied to by the Pharamacist saying she’d need to get authorization from a doctor and it might be a while when in reality she just didn’t feel comfortable doing it. Why lie when you can just be honest. Completely unprofessional and wrong. Just go to the other ones in Schenectady.

I've had nothing but poor customer service at this location. They have lost my prescriptions, said they couldn't call a doctor's office, etc. I do not recommend them.

The pharmacy is awful. 95 % of the time the pharmacy doesn’t contact to confirm an order ready for pick up.No one ever answers the phone when you call and even after waiting a significant amount of time to pick up order, it’s never ready for pick up.

My 90/92 year old parents needed flu shots and covid boosters so I made appointments. That process was easy. When we arrived there was an issue with insurance (big surprise there). She was asking for some card that my parents couldn't find and then when they finally found them she ended up needing the original cards that I provided in the first place. The pharmacist/tech (not sure what she was because she didn't identify herself) was annoyed with me because I was annoyed with the process. That's fine and deserving. However, my parents had nothing to do with it and yet she was unfriendly, bordering on rude to them as well. She barely spoke to either of them. I just assumed that was her personality. While my parents were waiting to make sure they had no reactions another person sat for a vaccine and she was friendly and chatting it up with them. So, clearly she was just taking out her frustration with me and my elderly parents.

I would give this CVS at 1330 Balltown Road a 0 rating if possible. Just stopped in tonight to grab a couple items, saw a big sign and a huge display of Halloween candy the sign indicated that the candy was 2 bags for 7.00 so I grabbed two bags of the assorted candies. Got to the register and they rang up 24.00. The display had numerous boxes full of these bags of candy under the sign, anyway the cashier asked the manager and he berated me saying that I should know better that they were not that price. He was extremely rude, he should have gone over and looked at his display and apologized that the boxes of the assorted candy were misplaced and it was the store's fault rather than loudly reprimanding me. I told him that he should not have that candy displayed under the signs and he should change it rather than speaking so rudely to a customer. I am going to remove cvs as a provider of my prescriptions after being treated so rudely. I don't usually write scathing reviews but this was ridiculous.

Highly advise against using the pharmacy at this location. Was there to pick up a prescription for insulin one day and the girl (not a pharmacist) was having trouble finding it and was looking through baskets throughout the pharmacy. I told her it would be stored in the refrigerator where insulin always needs to be stored before opening. She had the nerve to argue that insulin didn’t need to be stored in the refrigerator. As a diabetic of 20 years I was shocked at what I was hearing and a little nervous about the safety of medicine I receive from here. Upon hearing this the actual pharmacist came over and corrected her and said insulin is ALWAYS stored in refrigerator. Fast forward to today a Saturday and I go into wait for my prescription. As I’m waiting the tech starts pulling down the pharmacy gate saying they are closed after I’ve just stood waiting for five minutes. After this latest occurrence I am switching all of my medications from here after being a loyal customer for 25 years. I would highly advise that diabetics do not use this pharmacy as you can never be sure if insulin is handled safely and stored correctly. I will never step foot in this CVS again.
