Definitely a great place to stop after or before heading through the mountains. Especially if taking 87, not much til out of Adirondack. Staff very nice and food fresh and wide variety.

What a cute little spot! The food was very good and our waitress was friendly and efficient. We even got cute Black Bear t-shirts to remember our visit. ?

This place has been here since the 1950s. Nice big bar and lounge with friendly staff and locals on one side. On the other is a Diner with counter and stools and a dining area with tables and booths. Great place for breakfast. Bar is great for lunch with a beer or drink. At night, bar is popular with the locals. Probably one of the oldest establishments in the area.

This place was amazing! GPS loses connection in the mountains. What should have been a 2.5 hour trip turned into a 6 hour trip. The customers in this place were so accommodating to help me find my way to my destination that I actually felt like I belonged there. Great people, friendly, courteous and a true god send. Bless them! And thanks for the balls even if they weren't the right flavor... Lmao. Can't wait to wear my sweatshirt from Pottersville. Far from the scrooge yet funny none the less.

I enjoyed the service. The cooking of the food needed a little work, but I was satisfied. I would recommend the black bear

Saw Black bear on the way back from Schroon lake. Waitress was very friendly, and the food came out so fast. I had the meatloaf dinner it was very good with real mashed potatoes with red skins and delicious brown gravy, kraft Mac and cheese for my daughter which is perfect because she doesn't like the fancy kind, husband had a papa bear burger and fries good sized portion and he said very good, and my son had chicken qusadillas which he said were fair. We will def be back. Always a fan of down home country food.

Arrived today to watch two waitresses bicker over who was going to do the work to clean empty tables to seat us. After 25 min was finally seated but waited another 20 min to even get drinks or order- the restaurant was FAR from busy- 6 tables between 2 waitresses. After 2 hours we’ve finally received our food and needless to say WE WILL NOT BE BACK!!!!!

Walked in only 1 couple eating. Ask waitress for a booth. Went to restroom came out every booth and table dirty. Waitress sipping on her soda. I’ve had decent meals there before. But this waitress is clueless.

The Black Bear is a nice older style pub. A bar, a dining room and a pool table. The staff is friendly and helpful. I wish it was near where I live. I would be a regular there.

Visited for the 1st time. Things are tough with this COVID-19 but they did amazing. Taking proper precautions and following all guidelines. Food was great. Waitress was on point and our bartender Sissy was such a great hostess. Met Pat and Suzette who were sweethearts too. Will definitely be stopping back next time I am in town!!! Thank you for everything ladies!!!

Delicious food and excellent customer service! This is a very homey establishment and the staff treat you like one of the locals. They have great prices and a decent menu. It’s a local gem for sure right in the Adirondacks.

Grabbed lunch to-go from Black Bear Restaurant on Monday afternoon. A diner and bar, that serves up some solid food at good prices.Quality: On our drive back to the city, spotted Black Bear Restaurant and decided to grab some food. I went with the Cheesesteak Sandwich and Fries. Thin slices of tender meat served on a soft bun with melty cheese and onions, it was a solid sandwich. And the Fries that came with it should not be missed. Thick cut, perfect consistency, and great flavor. Worth adding on whether you are here for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or drinks.Quantity: A large sandwich that came with a healthy pile of fries.Value: $11 for a Cheesesteak Sandwich and Fries.Ambiance: Black Bear Restaurant is located in the Upstate New York town of Pottersville. When driving by the large and long establishment, it is easy to become curious about what is inside. Unfortunately COVID-19 kept our visit inside quick, but it has the perfect mix of diner and bar needed in small towns. I also loved how each table had lottery slips to fill out as you wait. The restaurant also had a small outdoor patio on the far end, which looked great for enjoying a drink. Crowd: We were the only guests at the time, but it seemed like it would be popular on weekends.Service: Friendly server rushed out to greet us and bring us menus. Food was prepared fast and well packaged for take-out.Parking: Private parking lot that surrounds the restaurant.
