“My boyfriend and I enjoyed both our peaceful overnight stay in the Birches Cottage (room w/2 beds, TV + porch) and access to the serene Thirteenth Lake via their private beach + boat launch. (Canoes/kayak, no power boats) Nice spot for a couples getaway! We chose this spot to use our new inflatable paddle boards together and it did not disappoint! We couldn't have felt more relaxed between sights and sounds of lovely loons, spotting a beaver, and swimming in a clean-feeling wild lake. The cool evening air gave a nice break from the heat of Summer - so bring some clothing layers! :)
Our beds were very comfortable and the room well kept, updated while staying in theme, and quiet. For those whom it may be helpful to know, we appreciated the (Beekman 1802) samples and shampoo/conditioner/body wash pumps available for use. Decent shower pressure! We didn't utilize the porch as we spent most of our time on the water and in the main lodge, but it had two chairs available. Dinner and drinks were so satisfying! Highly recommend! For the included breakfast there was a buffet with a delicious layout of options including pancakes, sausage, bacon, eggs, pastries, juice, etc that definitely added to making the stay feel worthwhile. All staff we spoke with were kind, friendly and helpful!
The only suggestion we would like to give is to have more than one fire pit by the main lodge so more than one group of guests can enjoy being cozy while seeing the beautiful view and having s'mores in the evening. There was an unlit fire pit at the Birches Cottage but we weren't sure about rules or if that fire pit was limited to a particular guest room (like how the back porch is), being a bit closer to another room's side of the cottage. My recommendation to other guests is to ask for info ahead of time.
We would absolutely stay again as Garnet Hill Lodge and the scenic surroundings provided everything we were looking for!! :)”

“My husband and I stayed here for our first anniversary and I had to write a review, which I never do. But, this was absolutely necessary.
From the moment of arrival, the room, the view, the cozy home feeling, and the service. Impeccable. The front desk manager, ugh I can’t I remember her name??‍♀️
The room location was right near the outdoor wedding venue and as I sat outside enjoying everything, I could help but hearing her explain in detail how the day was planned what they do and what to expect was pretty impressive. I couldn’t help but pay attention. If she is not the manager, she should be….or a raise of some sort. She knew her stuff. She was pleasant, knowledgeable and such a friendly welcoming woman. She very much accommodated us during our stay.
Highly recommend and we will now call this our annual anniversary gift to us. Can’t will till next year!!!!!”

“First, the lodge’s location near Gore makes it perfect for visiting snowboarders! The service provided by the owner and crew were top notch. The lodge environment was very warm and cozy after a long day in the cold. Cant wait to plan another trip!”

“We visited for my sister's wedding weekend and it was absolutely perfect! The cabins are so cozy and the rooms are decorated nicely. One of our bathroom sinks was from a real granite rock that was carved into a sink!! We loved the electric fireplace in the bedrooms, too! The view was beautiful! There is so much to do around the area, and it was very convenient to have a Stewart's and Dollar General within a 2 mile radius. 100% recommend, and we plan to visit again!”
