Small-ish exhibits of local artists. A very nice space, interesting building (a Carnegie library), nice selection in the current exhibits. We visited it after an architectural tour of the neighborhood, also worth visiting.

This is a beautiful building that was once a public library, and is now an art center. The stained glass ceiling is spectacular. The natural light in the building really sets off the art. I especially liked the photography exhibit. There was a concert being performed on the lawn featuring The Alex McArthur Quintet. They were awesome and played lots of my favorite tunes. They have concerts on the lawn every Thursday evening in the summer. Bring a chair, some snacks, and a beverage and prepare to be entertained. There are many large trees for shade, and a big parking lot. There is a very peaceful, relaxing vibe here.

I went fo the Art Off the Wall event, and was a featured artist there. The experience was good, food, drinks ad such as well. The volunteers there were very friendly, and the building was clean and beautiful. My one problem was the amount of space. There was a total of maybe 120 people in the building and it was so very busy. I would love the gallery to have some more space or such. Otherwise a wonderful experience.

I am an artist living in Buffalo. When I first moved back from Chicago in 2006, I applied to an exhibition opportunity called "Beyond/in Western New York 2007" I was happily excepted and showed all of my big drawings. My venue was the Carnegie Art Center in North Tonawanda. I had no idea how perfect a spot this would be for my work. When I find the photos of the show, I'll upload them. In the meantime, I'll describe the show and my experience. I had never been given so much space to exhibit and it was set in a beautiful old library on a quiet tree lined street, set back, stunning. My show was written about in local papers and it brought me great recognition in the Buffalo arts community. I will forever be grateful for the Carnegie Art Center. Now to find pictures...
