Beautiful, well kept resting place for loved ones. My family and I have been coming here only once a year for years traveling an hour more each way, but it is worth it. Would only like to call out the mean spirited organism that screamed, enough to wake the dead, towards my family and called the police on us this time for peacefully honoring/paying respects to our beloved grandfather with a small traditional joss worship (the only time someone has had a problem, even with other cemeteries we've visited for 20+ years). The officers were dignified and cordial in voicing calmly their concerns which we politely adhered and responded to. Something they don't teach you in a petri dish. I am assuming this holier than thou amoeba is not affiliated with the grounds thankfully as his approach was extremely disrespectful and lack the decorum fitting for a cemetery but apropos for a bouncer at a night club. We suspect unfortunately also, that it may in part come from a place of ignorance and bigotry. Word of advice: leave that tone at home when you're shouting at Timmy to get off your lawn and the policing to actual officers who are trained at an academy that has more credibility and authority than the one at Paw Patrol. Thanks Chase.

My great aunt is buried here. The superintendent of the cemetery, Lou, was super-helpful in helping me locate the grave (which is unmarked), and answering my various questions about the cemetery and my great aunt's burial. The cemetery is beautifully maintained.

I have never met someone as rude as cemetery director "Lou". He was extremely unhelpful, acted like it was just a inconvenience for him, bizarre how someone can be so indifferent and unkind could work in a cemetery.

While in Nyack to visit the Edward Hopper Museum, we wanted to see sites relating to this great American artist. Paying our respects at his final resting place seemed appropriate. We also were interested in a number of other notables in this cemetery: screenwriter Ben Hecht; actress Helen Hayes, her writer husband Charles McArthur, and their actor son James McArthur; writer Carson McCullers; artist Joseph Cornell; and jazz saxophonist Zoot Sims. We enjoyed our time there contemplating the legacies of the notables we visited amidst the winding roads, rolling hills, and the fall colors of the trees, not to mention the views of the Hudson River and the Tappan Zee Bridge.
