We came here for the Jack O' Lantern Blaze. It was a nice family outing for halloween without all of the ghouls and goblins. There were plenty of opportunities throughout the trail to snap nice holiday ? photos.

Went to the Old Bethpage Village Restoration for the Halloween exhibit, Blaze. We had a wonderful time. It was amazing to see the creations that were made using pumpkins.

Attended a Senior Birthday Party called "Celebrating Seniors". It was a wonderful experience. We received information from various County departments: Aging, mental health, county clerk, veterans service, crime victim. We also received lunch, entertainment, music. This was a nice birthday present from the office of the county executive on the fairgrounds.

Went here last week and haven't been since elementary school. If you love local history and 1800's American history this is so worth the experience. Not everything is open due to it being volunteer operated and the Halloween pumpkin light up they're doing but you can still kill 3-4 hours on a beautiful day walking the grounds and walking with the staff. They're all so knowledgeable and answer any questions you have. Even my annoying ones like "what's your most haunted experience?" Which there are a few!For two people it was $30 bucks and if you haven't been in a while and are looking for a nice historic stroll in 1800's Long Island it is well well worth it!

Fun historical experience! You can experience the 18th and 19th century life through visiting exhibits including homes, stores, school, and even a church. We went when it opened at 10 and we were not at all crowded or rushed. It was a very enjoyable 2 hours.

September 2022Such a fascinating village where you can immerse yourself in 19th century farm life. There are numerous buildings and exhibits to see, and it's a lot of fun for the whole family and children when they have festivals here. 19th century baseball games are played here sometimes and it's very interesting to see the game played as it was in 1864.

On a recent trip to visit family on Long Island we decided to spend a few hours at Old Bethpage Village. Not all of the houses are open everyday but most were open the day we were there (it was a weekday before most schools in the area had gotten out for summer, I would imagine those things effect how open/staffed they are). Most of the employees who were working in each house were super friendly and shared a lot of interesting information. A few seemed to be miserable being there but it is what it is. The houses have so many details and interesting things to see. There are also some animals and even old time baseball games you can watch. Make sure to wear comfy shoes, there are some areas where you end up walking through uneven grass or dirt. Overall it an interesting place to spend a few hours and learn about Long Island history.

A hidden gem that unless you want there on a school trip, like I did you would never know it is there. A great new feature as soon as you pull in is the tank museum. I was in awe when I saw the size of these tanks.

Really cool experience, especially with the kids. We went for Fourth of July weekend and they did a reenactment of soldiering, baseball game, live bands, dancing and a parade. Also had crafts at the old school house. Was a grand ol time!

Great museum! There are a lot of historical houses in one place. You feel like you're in the 19th century Village. You can come to different houses and get a tour from the host or look by yourself.$15 per adult.Definitely recommend.

The restoration village is the location where Blaze occurs. It's a fantastic display of jackolanterns in various shapes, sizes, design and most importantly, THEMES. Have you ever wondered what it would look like under the sea, but with pumpkins? Wonder no more!Blaze has timed entry tickets and the system helps manage crowds as well as parking. The whole ordeal is very organized.

The village is absolutely delightful! Incredibly scenic! It really immerses you in the time and the history of the area to be in a place like this in a way that isn’t possible at a normal museum! All of the historically clad historians and workers at each location in the village were delightful and were willing to answer my many MANY historical questions. They talked extensively about the different places and made the interactions not just informative but an actual pleasure! I also very much liked being able to meet all the farm animals, whom I was told are official ‘county employees’, and the hat shop, which has some truly spectacular and incredibly well made hats! They are sturdy but still fashionable looking in a timeless way that you can still wear for current fashion!

Came here for the Great Jack O'Lantern Blaze and were very impressed!!The event itself, magnificent, of course. True artsmanship!!! But the staff here have this down like a well oiled machine. From parking to merchandise and everyone on the paths - AWESOME!!The paths are easy and accessible for strollers and wheelchairs - paths are not paved, so bear in mind that means dips and grooves in the ground as you walk, wheel or stroll. It is incredibly helpful that tripods are not allowed, so the flow is nice and smooth.
