Long Island's quintessential Gold Coast Mansion... depicting the grandeur of the industrial age - Many of the mansions were called summer houses by their owners. Many were multi home owners in NYC and England or other areas in Europe. The Phipps mansion here was preserved by the family members for the public to enjoy. It is a privately managed estate, so donations by local businesses are always appreciated. This mansion above all is known for its exquisite gardens reminiscent of great estates in Europe. The inside rooms are decorated with items from the time. Spring and summer are great times to see the gardens, while Holiday time is the best to see the house.

Simply beautiful! The landscaping and the variety of different types of gardens is wonderful. I was able to see so many amazing flowers! The rose garden is a must see! This is a great place for families, and there are some nice picnic areas to relax in. Anyone visiting Nassau county should stop by and take in this beauty, especially during late spring and early summer times.

The entry fee is about $17. I am not sure around that cost. The staff were welcoming, and the guided tour was both informative and engaging. Beyond its architectural and natural beauty, the Old Westbury House hosts a variety of cultural events throughout the year. From art exhibitions and musical performances to educational programs, the estate's commitment to enriching the community's cultural life is evident. These events make each visit a unique and enriching experience. The meticulously landscaped gardens surrounding the house are a true horticultural masterpiece. The vibrant colors, carefully manicured lawns, and diverse flora create a tranquil oasis that complements the grandeur of the mansion

Super beautiful place for photo. But you need to apply for professional photoshoot and the staff is very strict for Photoshoot here! And you are not allow to take photos in front of the main building, which is a little bit not making sense.

The estate and gardens are really impressive and well kept. We didn't take a guided tour and went through the mansion in half an hour. On the particular day we visited (a Sunday), there was an exotic/antique car show on the parking field. Normally, tickets need to be pre-purchased online, but for this day they are sold onsite due to the event.

Excellent children's event today ,"Whimsical Wizard School." Laura led all the children through a magical 2 hours of crafts and nature information while it was down pouring outside The Barn. Program was reasonably priced and everyone had a good time.tCan't wait to see what other programs they come up with for children and adults.

Price is so low compared for the views these gardens offer. Please, explore the house as it transfers you to older times - I was feeling really magical!

What a beautiful treasure in Long Island. My family and I loved exploring the gardens. So many nice spots in this estate. The lush grass, beautiful flowers, the small cottages, the lake, the pool, the mansion...everything was beautiful and felt like I was in a palace. You can have a picnic there too. My son played with his ball on the open field. Definitely bring your own food and drinks. Great for families to enjoy. We got free passes with our library cards. Check your local library for museum passes!

Beautiful place to experience! My children were fantasizing about what it would be like to live there. The gardens are just breathtaking. The staff is so friendly, knowledgeable, and welcoming. We had a great afternoon there. We love reading, so we loved the library and the collection of treasures it holds.

Very nice and very well maintained park and mansion. We enjoyed walking around the park, enjoy the landscape and gardens. Each corner offers a new view. We were very impressed by the design. They do not offer paper maps at the gate saying the want to go paperless. Considering the price of the entry tickets this seems to be more greedy than caring for the environment.

Beautiful. Just beautiful. There are an array of gardens on this property all beautifully designed and planted. The trellises for the rose garden would be the most gorgeous place to take wedding photos. The water features in the English garden and the expansive lawn, not to mention the beautiful house and architecture. This place is absolutely worth the drive and the admission.
