“Christopher Gola
Christopher Gola walked through the doors of Intandem in Olean, NY, carrying more than just paperwork and plans. He carried hope. Every morning, he greeted the people he worked with by name, reminding them that they weren’t just clients — they were neighbors, friends, and part of a community that mattered.
One winter, a young man named Alex struggled to find work. Christopher didn’t just hand him a résumé template; he sat with him, practiced interviews, and even walked him to his first job site. When Alex finally earned his first paycheck, he held it up with pride. “I did it,” he said. Christopher smiled, knowing that independence was more than a paycheck — it was dignity.
In small towns like Olean, stories of transformation don’t always make headlines. But for Christopher, every success was a headline worth celebrating. His work wasn’t about recognition; it was about building a world where everyone, regardless of ability, had a place at the table.”
“Really the best local fitness center I know of (if only I lived in Olean).
The people there are all unanimously great. We bring our kid there to swim every time we're in the area, pool is very large, very clean, warm, plenty of toys and floats around, and had a graded ramp for kids to enter from.
But they also have a steam room, sauna, a giant hot spa, and that's not even TOUCHING whatever they have outside the aquatic section.
The upstairs workout area is fully loaded, clean and quiet,
There's like 3 or so huge basketball courts/gyms for whatever sport you have in mind, they have soccer nets and balls and whatever other sports equipment you need to stand up adhoc.
And THEN there's the OUTSIDE playground, huge and loaded with every slide, monkey bar, rock wall or whatever you need, right next to YET ANOTHER outdoor basketball court/sport floor.
I haven't explored past that but I bet there's more stuff.
They have everything for young men to enjoy, you can hang out with all the boys (and girls and women and men of all ages nowadays)
You know it's fun to swim at the YMCA”
“Always a pleasure to visit staff and employees always pleasant and thankful for the food pantry even being there for people like it myself and others that are on a low income”
