Northup Gallery is a unique antique shop and gallery located just one mile off Main Street in the beautiful hills of Oneonta, NY, housed in a 19th-century dairy barn. It specializes in antiques, fine art, and vintage lighting, also serving as a broker for new furniture and top lighting brands. The gallery features custom lighting, furniture, art, and sculpture created from vintage found objects by the owner, with custom design and restoration services available. Visitors describe it as a fantastic and wonderful local spot, probably the best antique store they have been to, feeling like a true treasure trove. It offers a unique selection of varied items of interest, including lots of jewelry, vintage knickknacks, expired film rolls, and tons of epic lamps and light fixtures. Many of these are made by the owner himself. The shop also contains a bonus drum museum below with 100-year-old kits that can be played. The owner is consistently noted as very kind, friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable, offering insightful information and really nice deals. Customers left with items like a perfect black tripod lamp, a beautiful brass floor lamp with a hand-painted shade, a porcelain oil lamp, and an old projector. It is absolutely worth a visit, with many planning to definitely stop back. The barn is open every weekend from March through January, on Saturdays and Sundays, with weekday visits by chance or recommended appointment.

Such a great collection. The guy who owns it has great taste curation and an incredible lamp selection.

Tim is one of the most knowledgeable antiques and decorative arts dealers in the region. Seems like the gallery has a new gem every time I stop in. Super friendly, too!
