Avoid this place like the plague.Other reviewers who have said that PCS had their computer for months are not exaggerating. I'm embarrassed to state how long they had my computer but it was months also.Forget about telephoning or texting for updates; those always go unanswered. Anytime you would go in person to check on how things were progressing, it was the same line, "it's updating," or "I'm sorry; I haven't had a chance to get back to it yet" due to some other crisis. Look, I'm an understanding and more than patient person, but how often can a computer be updating...and why does it only seem to be doing it when I come into your shop?Trying to set a realistic deadline for it to be repaired by was a joke, and often met with a rude response about "how much time he's invested in working on it already; and all the money that he's not going to recoup from his wasted time." Like he's doing me a favor to spend time working on my computer. It's a business; and I'm paying for a service.The remarks were nasty and totally unprofessional.When I finally had enough of the dissembling and politely came in asking for my computer back -- fixed or not. It was quickly thrown back together. What came into PCS for a simple tune-up and some upgrades was a fully operational computer; what I got back was a giant paperweight! This is what PCS was able to accomplish in six months? A trashed computer. I was too disgusted and disheartened to go back and complain; I just wanted to be finished with PCS once and for all.Took the same computer to the computer shop on East End near Price Chopper, asking for the same specs that I wanted on the one that PCS was supposedly working on. No fuss, no muss -- I had a rebuilt, upgraded computer with everything I wanted done and working perfectly in less than two weeks at the East End computer shop. At the rate PCS was going, I wouldn't have seen my computer with those same specs in two years.Stay far away from this place.

doesn't do the original work---then triple bills you at the end---if he doesn't break your computer---wont return calls--or pay what he owes you!

I'm upset still but being nice because the owners are nice but again I am upset. Everytime I use my computer, it is still slooooooow. Has been from the very beginning. So slow it takes 30 minutes to do what I used to do in 5 min before I took it to be repaired. I won't take it back because it stayed in "hospital" for a very long time. Even after I paid for services in full (of which I was told it was done) and came to pay and pick it up and it was not done. Waited even longer. There is a warranty I was told but I feel I will never see my computer again if it goes back to be "repaired". Everytime I use my computer, I think about how the computer monitor was exchanged for a smaller screen without me being told. Yes, my original I brought in was a Pavillion 23 and now its a Pavillion 20 screen. That I kept forgetting to ask why. I feel ripped off. Also took a laptop there to be fixed and again it was there for months and finally was told it could not be fixed after that. I do appreciate not being charged the shelf fee, but still feel ripped off. Was never able to say it until now.

Tried to fix my Dell Windows 98 for gaming. Though they were very polite, 1. they had my computer for over 6 months, delays always introduced by more excuses 2. could not fix the problem and 3. (the worst part) charged me a quite large fee for trying, and leaving me with a still non functioning computer. I hope you fare better than me.

Terrible experience. Needed laptop screen replaced, told me less than a week. Two months later, finally put in the new screen, which they charged to my credit card. New screen immediately broke after installation, they gave me back the laptop with a ‘sorry’. Couple days later called me, said felt bad, offered to reimburse me for the screen, took my info. Never got the money. Lousy way of doing business.

Went to John and Richard for help with setting up an IP phone. They were very knowledgeable and willing to help! Got me on the right track, and I'll be using them for all of my IT needs down the road. Great guys to work with!

I went to PCS off of the reviews, figured I would drop off my laptop to be fixed. They fixed it right on the spot. Great deal on the price too!. Great people!

Don't go here. It has taken 6 months for them to work on one laptop. Still waiting for it back. Unacceptable service, and every week is a different excuse as to why it's not fixed. I went here because they had a 5 star rating but they sure don't act like it. If they didn't have the knowledge or the time to do the job, they never should have taken on the job. Not very honest. Seem like good people but they are playing games with me.

I am a very busy individual. Throughout my time as an undergrad, I would go to places like Edison computers and I did not like how I was treated. I work with computers, so there are times where I have no desire to work on my own. For the last two years, I have always done my own computer work when I had the time. However, I am currently working on my masters in computer mapping full time and I also work at a data firm... I do not have time to work on my own computer... I am telling you , Personal Computer Services is the ONLY place in otsego county that knows what they are doing AND has excellent customer service. I needed work done on my 2018 MSi GV62 i5 8th gen and I was VERY pleased. I will be going there again.
