I used to love going here, but things have changed in the last couple of years. The selection of clothing is sparse compared to before and now I usually walk out without buying anything which was not the way it used to go. The current workers are helpful, but with so little to choose from, there is almost no point to going in.

Horrible place with the creepiest volunteers and employees I’ve seen they should really be ashamed to have people like that associated with the place. But I guess help is help. Please get rid of the old witch lady and screaming veteran that talks to himself as he does yard work. They have serious mental issues.

I love this Salves, it's my go to place to find things I don't really need but can't resist. All the staff are always so kind and helpful. It's a must stop for me when I go to Oneonta. Not the largest but one of the best.

Whoever answers their phone is rude. I have been trying to find Xmas assistance and have been looking on their Facebook site for information and nothing was posted. Was told I’m 3 days late from the cut off date. I just moved to NY. Single mom of 4 and homeless at the moment. She told me to call Thursday to see if a extension is offered and I just started a job where I’ll be working 7am to 7pm on Thursday and asked her if she could call me if they do open it and she told me NO THEY DONT DO THINGS LIKE THAT, I have to call. There was a baby crying in the background as she was talking to me and you could hear in her voice that she was overwhelmed.

Located at the intersection of Main and Market St. in a squat, decrepit-looking mid-century modern building, this Salvation Army houses a pirate's hoard of grimy, musty old clothes, (mostly broken) housewares and general items and a large selection of (also mostly broken) assorted older antique store fare up front by the cash registers. Definitely a place to hit up if you wanna nab some old cracked Precious Moments figurines (I know I do!) or rusty kitchen appliances that probably don't work (I definitely do) or some old musty cardigan sweaters (I'll take 'em all!). And if you're prepared to drop the big bucks, you might get lucky and find an old English Leather Aftershave gift set at the front counter. Some chipped depression glass, old postcards and a busted-up violin might also be within your reach too depending on the day. When I stopped in recently I scored a Golden Girls Christmas sweatshirt and an ugly retro canvas suitcase from the 70s, so obviously a damn good haul for me. My girlfriend actually liked the Golden Girls sweater and suggested I wear it to her friend's ugly Christmas sweater party. Naturally, I told her I would sooner burn it than allow it to be worn to such an event. Luckily, it's way too small for me anyway and will probably just sit on a shelf in my closet for a few years until I decide to cycle it out into a garbage bag for long-term storage in the basement. Ugly Christmas sweater party... The suitcase, however, will be displayed prominently among my ever-growing collection of vintage luggage.
