Been awhile since I've been here but the guy behind the counter was extremely rude as soon as I entered. Its like the guy needs everyone to know that he knows so much about music, but not in a welcoming and teaching way, but in a snobbish way.

The owner, presumably the guy behind the counter when I went there, was pretty rude to me from the get go when I walked in. Not really that impressed with their prices (especially in a college town), considering what selections they have.

Great Place! I just bought a vinyl from there at a very reasonable price and it sounds great! Owner is extremely knowledgeable. If you need music in Oneonta, this is your place!

Amazing jazz and soul collection. This is probably the best store in Oneonta.

Decent collection and good prices overall, but price stickers are put directly on the cover of the records, maybe 20 percent of the storage is properly protected with outer sleeves, the 45 collection in the back was incredibly vast but perhaps the laziest storage I've ever seen with hundreds stacked on top of one another with zero protection, the owner's attitude and vibe were generally hostile when it comes to talking about pretty much anything and is an impressive gatekeeper, creating an unwelcoming atmosphere. All of this combined gives my assessment of an unprofessional and unethical, full-fledged record store. Oh and the guy was talking about how the younger generations don't understand music, yet he was playing the store music through a fricking YouTube video.

This place is for vinyl enthusiasts. Take time to look around, but make sure you strike up a conversation with Vinnie the owner. Absolute riot and damn knowledgeable. I’m a record digger and I enjoy stopping at shops during my vacations. Came here to see the Baseball Hall of Fame and found the only record shop in the area was only 0.8 miles from my hotel. He had the best Ozzie collection I’ve ever seen in a store. Top notch condition with great prices. Sure I could of found my records cheaper, but having a conversation with a music enthusiast like Vinnie was well worth it for me. Support the independent owners and keep them in business. Use record diggers need them to further enjoy our family vacations.Cleaned him out of most of his Ozzy’s but he had a ton of AC/DC and Judas Priest, but my card was still smoking from buying the 11 Ozzy records. I know I’ll remember The Vinyl Music Vault each time I listen to my records. Can’t wait to clean my new records when I get home. I recommend you call in advance to make sure the store is open.

Dude is totally rude. Wouldn't give me the time of day and told me my whole generation is worthless. Not exactly where I want to be spending my money. Good luck man

WEIRD hours, sometimes not open when they say they are - and when you go in the guy brags about the thousands and thousands of records he has, all different formats, all the genres you could think of... but when I ask about a specific band or artist he's clueless. Probably won't go back which is a shame because it's one of the only record stores in the area

Wonderful shop for all your vintage audio needs and one of the most knowledgeable owners you could hope for. If you're ever looking to discover fantastic music stop in and start a conversation. If there is something you can't find, just ask and there is a good chance they can track it down.

A really excellent collection of music. If you want it they've had it had at some point. As an added bonus the owner seems to treat music with the respect it deserves.

The musical equivalent of an 80yr old's yard sale. If you're looking for the soundtrack to Free Willy 3 or perhaps D2:LoD as a "music CD" while listening to smooth elevator music - by all means jump right in. Why, they even have SNAP! available. #pog champ

When I first walked in, The guy behind the counter talked AT my girlfriend and I for the first 15 minutes—it was so overwhelming and uncomfortable. My girlfriend was talking about what music she likes, and he continuously cut her off and Intrusively made assumptions about her life (and mine). After he made us feel bad for not knowing enough music, it felt incredibly awkward and forced to walk around the store and browse. To top it off, he bragged about his wide collection of music (over 65,000 records!), yet didn’t have the one artist we were looking for. Two stars for good prices and nice collection (if you ignore the awful atmosphere).

owner is rude, insulting, belittling, and just an overall unpleasant person to shop for
