I JUST LOVE THIS POST OFFICE FROM ITS VINTAGE LOOK TO THE HELPFUL YOUNG LADIES. THEY WERE FAST AND EFFICIENT. ESPECIALLY NETANYA

Construction was completed in 1936 and this building is a classic. Even if you don't have anything to mail, it's worth stopping in to check out the five murals inside by American artist Ernest Peixotto, including George Washington's visit to Oyster Bay and Theodore Roosevelt at Sagamore Hill. However, the building was closed and locked when I arrived well after regular business hours. There are mailboxes outside on the curb which were useful for dropping off post cards. The post office was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1989. [Review 15331 overall, 833 of 2021, number 216 in New York.]

Do NOT use this post office. I've sent mail by priority at this location. One ended up in Texas when it was supposed to go to Mineola. The other was supposed to go to commack and it ended up being returned as undeliverable. Both addresses were valid addresses. I've also sent my bills out by regular mail and it took 10 business days for them to go two towns over in the same county. This place is a mess. It's either a worker who is playing games or this place just sucks. I spoke to the post master. She looked at me like it was my fault. When you see dodgy activity with post offices on the news, it's true!

If I could give less than one star I would. The people who work at this post office are beyond rude. All of them. If you have a problem, don't expect the managers to help you, especially the post master who is the most condescending woman I have ever spoken with. They could care less about any issues you may have. Instead of helping you, they will turn you away and have a "sorry, that's too bad" attitude. Terrible customer service. Words of advice – unhappy managers breed unhappy employees, no one is forcing you to be there. You're a public facing worker, so treat the public with respect. Especially when the customers are being respectful and polite!

I had the best experience today. The most stressful situation is losing your cell phone. I lost mine at the Oyster Bay Post Office and Postal supervisor named Warren found it and was able to track me down through my husbands cell phone. I hadn't known I even left it at Oyster Bay so I hadn't have to go through the high anxiety of even missing my phone. We met up with Warren and he had my phone. It was all such a lucky happenstance and I owe Warren so much for tracking us down. We don't live in Oyster Bay but live out east on the North Fork which is at least 57 plus miles away. My thanks to Postal Supervisor Warren for saving the day. Sincerely Fran Walker

They don't deliver parcels to the local residents, leaving slips saying you are out when you are not (Ive watched them walk up to my mailbox and deliver the slip with the letters, more than once). Ive paid for parcels to be delivered, not to have to keep going to the post office to collect because you can't be bothered to do your job!
