“We popped into Spirits of Cairo right after checking into our hotel in Leeds, just as a big snowstorm was rolling in—so naturally, it felt like the right time to stock up on bourbon.
I can honestly say this is the best bourbon selection I’ve ever seen. An incredible lineup of private barrel picks, New York locals, and small producers—it’s truly a whiskey lover’s dream. You could spend hours exploring the shelves, and the staff are absolute pros: knowledgeable, welcoming, and genuinely excited to talk whiskey.
If you’re anywhere nearby—or even just passing through—this place is 100% worth the stop. Grab a bottle (or three), chat with the guys, then head next door to G-Spot (some say it’s hard to find 😉) for a cocktail or glass of wine and a bite to eat.

“We walked in this afternoon, discriminating city folks on holiday. Vishal made suggestions on a Rosé(summer in a bottle) but we were skeptical. He noted it was popular, and had only one left, still we remained unconvinced. After a quick round of regions and flavor profiles, we decided to trust Vishal. So glad we did. What a wonderful Rosé, we will definitely be adding it to our summer rotation along with any other recommendations Vishal may have. .”

“Recently moved to Clermont and stopped by Lawlor’s Package Store on my way from Hudson. Nice selection of wines. I picked up a Nero d’Avola which was excellent. Found my favorite Cabernet Sauvignon - Chimney Rock (thank you head winemaker Elizabeth Vianna). Highly recommend Stewart and his selections of wines.”

“Wow! Endless praise for this gem of a find in quaint Tivoli... Upon walking in and noticing the inviting touches of the decor (super gorgeous wood and copper bar, warm and hip ambience, specials largely posted on the back chalkboard, and the incredibly attentive greeting from Jeff...starts you off for a perfect beginning...a delicious drink made by Liz...I'm ready! And then there is Chef Rei's delectable food. Holy camolies! (Actually, I have to admit, a strong, yet highly endearing slew of expletives came from me as I took my first bite...that's how out of control delicious this food was...!) The vichyssoise blew me away. Happily (and not easily) humbled, I savored each and every bite as Jeff brought out every dish...I am a Chef, and it is such a refreshing and utterly delightful experience to eat the finely tuned dishes of a better Chef...hats off, big time! Salads that had nuance and fine flavors with every happy forkful, appetizers and mains that will blow you away, not only visually, but with the incredible aromas and discerning flavor combinations...crazy inventive and fresh...! Dessert...heavenly...went for the churros and almost asked to simply stay the night! Oh my! Will definitely recommend to everyone and will absolutely be back! Looking forward to trying their ramen night family meal...for certain! Bravissimo to this small and hearty team that deserve serious praise...!”
“Unfiltered is my favorite wine shop of anywhere, ever. Maureen and the staff exude a combination of warmth, humor, and professionalism that make stopping by the shop a special little treat. I've learned a ton from the staff about wine/my preferences, and they share information without the tiniest bit of pretense. I also find their pricing structure makes quality bevs available across the cost spectrum, and that really stands out from other curated shops that limit or exclude lower price points all together. I just love a local business that is thoughtful and accessible in addition to knowing their stuff. Keep it up, queens!

“This liquor store is an absolute gem. They carry a wide variety of spirits, wines, and everything in between, but what really sets them apart is the people. The owners and employees are genuinely wonderful—they go out of their way to greet customers, remember names, and make everyone feel welcome. You can tell they’re truly passionate about what they carry and love sharing that knowledge with their customers.
They recently opened a new location, and it’s absolutely beautiful—spacious, thoughtfully designed, and a great reflection of the care they put into their business. It’s rare to find a store that combines both an impressive selection and such a warm, community-oriented atmosphere. Highly recommend!”
