Bruised Apple is a quiet, respectful indie bookstore and a great local gem. It is simply unbeatable, with an amazing selection of books, records, CDs, and cassette tapes. The shelves are packed with everything from philosophical treatises to sci-fi, all organized by category. The shop has a wonderful smell and is filled with humor throughout. It is a little tight inside with not much seating, but you can spend hours here, especially during off-peak times. All books are deeply discounted, with very low-priced sections. The experience is absolutely stunning and wonderful, making you want to return the next day.
