I contacted Block Advisors to do the tax return for our nonprofit organization. Paperwork was provided to Sue Devuyst in July for a return due September 15th. Supposedly, an extension was filed, which would have given us to March 15th I was in the office on March 6th, and the return was filed electronically that day (or so I was told).Two weeks later, I received an invoice from the IRS for over $2,500 for late filing. I have tried to contact Sue via phone and email, and through other folks in her Penfield office to no avail. What's really upsetting is that we owed no taxes, and since it was not our error, we shouldn't have to pay the penalty.Do yourself a favor and DO NOT deal with that office. Total incompetence and will not communicate.
