Excellent winemaker in the finger lakes region. Age worthy Rieslings.Treating experience was easy, just call ahead. And save room for dumplings!

A very small winery with some very good wines. The winemaker conducts the tastings, As a result, tasting hours are limited and reservations are absolutely necessary. However, the effort to make reservations is worth it. The winery offers a single Pinot Noir and four dry to slightly off-dry rieslings, and the winemaker takes the taster through each one, not only discussing the wines themselves, but also educating them about the winemaking process and how the nuances of each wine impact the tasting process. Probably the high point of five days spent in the Finger Lakes region.

The best of the best. There are not enough superlatives in the English language to describe the elegance, beauty and balance of Johannes Reinhardt's Kemmeter wines. At Kemmeter, "quality over quantity" isn't a slogan, it is a BELIEF that guides every decision made by the passionate winemaker. No matter how much you think you know about wine, Johanne's the consummate artisan will teach you something new. Plan your Finger Lakes trip around this tasting. Reservations required and well worth it.

We recently enjoyed a lovely Reisling tasting wuth Johannes Reinhardt. The wines were excellent. His attention to detail and the explantion of his wine process is extraordinary. He pays attention to each client in the tasting room and makes everyone very comfortable. I ordered frozen dumplings to go. I have not been fortunate to cook them yet. I am sure they will be as exquisite as the wines. This was a wonderful tasting experience. The Reinhardts are a match made in heaven.

Very small winery with excellent wines. The tasting experience is quite personal and you’ll get to learn on the wines, production and wine maker. The Rieslings are on the higher end and the Pinot Noir was stellar but quite expensive ($42) which is similar to a grand cru wine. Given it’s a small production using 3 different years, we thought it was worth bringing one back. Reserve in advance to secure a spot and don’t forget to eat the Bàos next door!

The BF and I had a wonderful wine tasting with Johannes. It was different from any other tasting we did and a really unique experience. We sat with two other couples and enjoyed the conversation. Johannes was very knowledgeable and good about making sure everyone had a chance to contribute. Wine was really interesting and we bought several bottles. We also had the chance to enjoy the dumplings sold next door (made by his wife, if I remember correctly) after our tasting and they were delicious. We're heading back to FLX this fall and plan to return to Kemmetter!

There is no better wine made in the Finger Lakes than at Kemmeter. Johannes is the heart and soul of Kemmeter. He brings such passion, warmth and knowledge to his wine making, and marvelously high quality standards. Spend a personable hour with him in a wine tasting and you will feel like you just spent an hour with an old friend, an old friend who is a remarkable wine maker who shares his passion and knowledge with you.

Was a fabulous experience to be able to discuss the wines with the winemaker. Wines are spectacular. Among the best Reisling to be found in the Finger Lakes. A must stop for anyone looking for best wine.

This is our family's go-to winery. Great atmosphere. The owner is passionate about his craft. The San San ages very well. We let the bottle in the pic rest since 2016. We just opened it August 13th 2023. It was so smooth and delightful we picked a 2020 to rest a while longer.

Stopped by today thinking we got lucky with a last minute reservation online. Turns out...our reservation was for a different day. We told Johannes what happened and he couldn't have been more accommodating. He immediately welcomed us in and allowed us to join the next scheduled tasting. It was a great intimate experience with someone that treated us like we were longtime friends. The tasting was informative and delicious. Would definitely recommend stopping by if you're in the area.Last but not least...the dumplings and bao buns were the perfect bite following the tasting. Be sure to grab some while you are there.

We were lucky enough to slide into a last minute reservation on a Thursday morning here. Johannes was an absolute delight and we had a lovely time talking about his Rieslings (what he is currently sampling.) We learned a lot and had fun. It’s clear he has a strong customer following and this vineyard is on our shortlist for FLX wines - and we will highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area. Make the reservation early, and absolutely - get the dumplings at SANS Dumplings next door. They are delicious!

We finally planned ahead for this summer's FLX trip and got a reservation at Kemmeter! Well worth the wait and s new must do each time we visit. We sampled the chicken and pork dumplings before our tasting (made to order, HOT, delicious), then headed to our tasting with ~3 other parties. Our tasting was 5 Rieslings and I loved getting to compare the different vintages and even how different the wine tastes from a newly opened bottle vs. already open for some time. Johannes was a fun host, offering his knowledge while encouraging everyone's tastes and opinions and emphasizing that wine tasting is a personal experience. We walked away with 5 bottles and will definitely return at least once a year.

I have 2 favorite wineries and this is #1. The wines are amazingly smooth with excellent mouth feel, the tastings are casual without being rushed. The winemaker himself does most of the tastings and discusses winemaking in general and the wines you're tasting specifically. Highly recommended.

Of the 12-14 wineries we visited during our 4 day Finger Lakes trip, the tasting here was our favorite. It takes place in a cozy room with a capacity of maybe 8 (reservations required) with classical music playing. The owner presents the various wines with such interesting details on the process and factors that contribute to the different tastes (year, weather conditions). He is so passionate about what he does and clearly loves bringing everyone into his world in the hopes it helps them appreciate wine a bit more. His wife also runs the dumpling shop next door and they are FANTASTIC.
