Some of the best food on the Avenue. Wonderful staff, fresh food, nice homey feel to the place. Great for a night out with friends, highly recommend.

Restaurant is one of our favorites, it's small and cozy. It can be a bit noisy at times but should not be a factor in going there. Service is incredible, attentive and friendly. Limited menu but something for everyone. Must try!

Freelance has had a great reputation. Superb food. Cozy ambiance. Last night the food was so-so. The Thai pasta (2 orders) was disappointing. The Chicken Milanese was very good, but unconventionally prepared. The scallops and pasta was not hot. So, all in all, a memorable meal for the wrong reasons. We will certainly give the Freelance another go. Could have been an off night.

Freelance is a small upscale restaurant. Its staff was friendly and try to satisfy their customers. The food was pretty good the salads & Pomm frites were superb and everything else was good too. Sometimes trying to please one customer makes others uncomfortable. we arrived with friends and were seated next to a table that had a large (75-85 lb) ? dog. we all love dogs but one guest was allergic. The dog was pretty well behaved but still have one person in our party have a allergic reaction that spoiled the night. Staff seemed to be to friendly with that guest to care about othersVegetarian options: waitstaff was unsure of what vegetarian s require. we asked about there soups and were told they were vegetarian since the only have a little meat stock

The food was uneven. The calamari was terrific, but the Thai Shrimp Pasta was extremely bland. It had little or no flavor and certainly did not taste like anything that could be called Thai. The menu description said it was made with basil but there wasn't a single leaf of basil in my dish. Very disappointing. Service was very good. Ambiance...very tight seating, but some might like that sort of vibe.

We have been here 4 times and have never experienced anything but great food, great service. It's small but but has its advantages such as attentive service, cozy atmosphere. Joe and Amid are incredible as they totally understand service is the game and they are superstars at it. It's a must try.

We have been going here since it opened It is one of our favorite places to have a great dinner. We celebrated our 53rd anniversary with them They treated us as if we were family as they always do. Do not pass this place up you will then make it a special place of yours.

My wife and I dined tonight with another couple looking forward to a great meal. After ordering a round of drinks, appetizers and our main courses we noticed different menus on the table adjacent to ours. When we asked the server what these different menus were and why we weren't offered them he responded that the menus were requested by the diners, who hadn't arrived yet, for restaurant week. In addition the table adjacent to ours on the other side was offered these special menus as well. The four of us were quite shocked and surprised that the restaurant was sneaky and not forthcoming in offering us these menus as well. Restaurant week isn't something a restaurant quietly hides but conversely offers patrons to promote existing and new business. It's not a matter of trying to save a few dollars but it just doesn't feel appropriate when an establishment treats diners differently and tries NOT to publicize something they obviously signed up for. Quite confusing to us. Why join restaurant week and then try and hide the fact that you have a special menu for something you obviously want to promote? Never going back there and will let my friends know about this deviousness at this establishment.

This was my second visit at this quaint small restaurant. I feel like I am in a Paris bistro the food was fabulous. My escargot was delicious as it was my venison. The chef took care in presenting the dishes and making suggestions. The service was friendly, and I will definitely return.

Absolutely delicious! Rack of lamb was beautifully prepared and served with polenta (with gorgonzola!!!) and broccolini. Fresh beet salad had great flavors. Efficient, friendly service in a comfortable setting. Truly a 5-star experience! We were too full for dessert so paid the bill (reasonably priced) and left. After we crossed the street, the manager called out to us and came over with a plate of restaurant-baked cinnamon pecan triangles to offer us a sweet treat to end the meal. A perfect ending to a perfect meal!

This was our second time at this restaurant and we were not disappointed either time. Food was outstanding along with a reasonable priced wine list and the staff was very pleasant and attentive. It's a small restaurant which makes it appealing. Parking in Piermont is always crazy but don't let that stop you from trying this gem.

It's our second time here and we were extremely satisfied. Food was great along with the service. The wine list is reasonably price. While parking in Piermont can be difficult it's no reason not to try this restaurant.

Went to celebrate our birthdays. Table was ready when we arrived, and the service was great. We were not rushed through courses, and were able to enjoy the delicious food. We will definitely be back!

Everything was really lovely- I wish they had some GF pasta options but the food was very tasty. Portions were very generous and everything arrived hot! The four of us each loved our dishes. It was a little noisy but otherwise a really enjoyable evening!
