Very helpful and friendly staff, usually not too crowded, kept pretty clean. Good variety of workout equipment.

Very unprofessional place. Our new debit card information is used on the dark web right after we give our information. We asked for an insider investigation and asked for a refund. They are claiming their system is secure and it's not their fault that I got unknown dark web charges and refund took forever. Literally we handed our card to the front desk person. Something really bad happened but they don't seem to care. Luckily our bank disputed the transactions. I will just slide it through without filing a police report this time. I just wanted people to know. Do not bother coming to this place.

Signed my stepson up for swim lessons and the instructor scared him so bad he cries when we try to bring him in the pool now. Very displeased as he is a water kid.

Had an appointment with a coach for a 3 mins swimming evaluation but had to wait for almost half an hour because she was teaching in a class. Everyone’s time is valuable and needs to be respected. Edited this review from 1 star to 4 stars because the the coach wrote an email to apologize. Plus the manager/owner has followed up and indicated that they care.

Hmm. I've just joined, toured, and worked out at both branches. The work out rooms definitely do not smell like piss. I'd say ignore the old negative reviews.

Signed up at the oval, where the old gym used to be around $20 a month. Now it’s $50 with the ymca, no new equipment or upgrades. The day I signed up I waited about 10 minutes at the front desk for someone to come help me. Today I walked in and was trying to take care of some business on my phone, so I started walking down the stairs because I was always used to scanning in at the door downstairs, got yelled at and scolded like I was trying to steal the services. Nothing huge just felt pretty rude, especially since I’m now paying more and am paid up beyond the month.

I was a member until my kids aged out of team sports in the 4th grade and made it to Fish in swimming. I recently restarted my family plan because they took over the Oval and it's definitely worth it. The Oval looks cleaner than ever and the group exercises are great. They have older equipment but it gets the job done. I can't wait to see what they do with the Wellness Center.

Employers in the child care are unprofessional and shouldn’t be in charge of caring for children. Was brought up multiple times to the management, but they seem to care less. The same employer is still employed

The owner of this gym doesn’t really seem to understand what proper “customer service” actually is. I called her to complain about an employee who was laughing at me with her co worker and seemed like they found something hilarious when I was the only person in line. Constantly received death stares and hostile passive aggressive attitude from her as well. The owner seemed unsympathetic. I guess I just like to waste my time and complain for no reason?

Hello.I'm writing to inform about unfair situation at YMCA of Plattsburgh, NY. I have a 5 yo daughter and we signed her up for the summer camp before COVID19 pandemic was in the picture. We paid $300 deposit for 4 sessions -each is 2 weeks long.We are now in Phase 1 of the reopening plan for NY and I don't feel comfortable sending my child to this camp, who informed us that they will be operating as usual and on a normal schedule. They advertised as "promoting socialization summer fun" before COVID19. Now when they reopen , CDC guides them to disinfect items between each use, suspend field trips, wear mask and maintain 6 fr apart. This is far away from the description given in the beginning. So, for those parents who are not concerned with COVID 19 primarily, they are concerned about children spending time indoors all summer with a mask on 6 ft apart from peers ,breathing bleach air and playing with individual set of toys. This is not as advertised. This is a nightmare. I want to keep my child safe at home home for this summer. YMCA, however, is firm about their policy of "non refundable deposit" , which I think should be changed due to GLOBAL pandemic at hand and real risk of children dying from it. I strongly believe that parents should not be bullied into sending kids to camp during this dangerous times. I believe that YMCA should adjust their policy and provide refunds for deposits for summer camp if parents chose to withdraw their children from participation in the program due to risks associated with COVID19. Thank you for your time.5/29/20- After fighting with YMCA for 2 weeks, filing complaints with Better Business Bureau , Gov. Cuomo's office, DOH(which I dont think was processed yet), YMCA refunded me money.

Gym is to small and very dirty, and the time management of the gym is awful with scheduled events in the gym going over the time they are scheduled to end.
