I travel for work to Plattsburgh often, and Point Au Roche is my go-to place. It is the definition of cozy. I love having access to the shared kitchen, as it allows me to prepare my own meals and enjoy leftovers. There is open access to towels and anything I have ever needed. Although the tile/showers/tubs are somewhat dated, the charm of the building and its surrounding nature really make this a delightful stay. I like not having a TV in the room and find I really unwind and disconnect, which is nice when traveling for work. Another perk is not having a gym but a STATE PARK across the street with epic trails and views of the lake.
Given Point Au Roche is just 20 minutes from Canada, I have shot up to Montreal a few times for good food and shopping.

The Point Au Roche Lodge was an amazing stay!! We came from Florida to Celebrate my wife's Fall Foliage birthday and couldn't have been happier!! Clean rooms, beautiful sitting and kitchen area and we seen deer every morning outside our room!! Wonderful place and communication with Yuri and Jess was extremely easy!! We highly recommend this lodge for anyone!!

Customer service seems to change their policies at will and even when provided screenshots of their own policies they refuse to honor them being dismissive and rude about their actions.

There is absolutely no soundproof. The noise from other rooms echoes through the place — people talking, kids noise, dog barking, people showering. We couldn’t sleep at all after the drive up and were completely exhausted. We paid $500+ for 2 nights during October stay for sleepless nights.

Very bad experience!
If you want to sleep with bugs 🐞 then stay in this place. Extremely rude behavior from staff, when I reported that I am seeing lot of bugs in my room can you arrange different room they said it’s normal and it’s in every room. And one more response is like if you want you cancel the booking and checkout now (which is 11PM) we will refund you. They also gave me one more option that if you want we can provide vacuums and you can clean the bugs.

PLEASE DON'T make a reservation with Priceline! Amazingly beautiful hotel but you should book directly with the hotel.
We booked a specific room with a Queen bed on PRICELINE:we even had a confirmation mentioning a queen bed and ...we open the door and it was absolutely NOT the room we saw on Priceline. We had two TWIN BED! Pretty awful for a romantic getaway! We called the owners and they were super apologetic and exasperated saying it happened a lot with Priceline and it is a scam: they show a Queen room and it's the Twin bed room that is under reservation. It isn't the Point au Roche Lodge fault and they can't give us another room as they are fully booked. The owners said they keep sending emails and calling Priceline about this and Priceline still hasn't fixed it!
We had to book last minute at another hotel as the twin beds were small.
Such a beautiful place with huge kitchen and lobby, we hope to book again but next time directly with the hotel.

My wife and I stayed here one night. The area is lovely and property is nice. Here are the issues…
The room (Quilters) has one small window and a sliding glass door to deck, but the deck is not private; it is shared with room next door. We might have sat out there anyway, but one of the two chairs was wet; not necessarily owners fault, but would have been nice to enjoy the weather.
As noted weather was nice, but sliding screen door was off the track, so we could not leave sliding glass door open, lest we’d have bugs in the room and the one window has an air conditioner in it, so we could not use the window either. Therefore, we had the AC on most of the night.
The shower stall is dated and rather small. It was difficult to maneuver inside it.
No TV in the room
As noted in some other reviews, the walls are paper thin and we could hear other guests in their room.
And a few other little things we noticed… like the curtain rod over the sliding glass door and the TP dispenser are mounted crooked. Makes you wonder, if they cannot get the little things right, what else is not right.
As for Service, we never saw any staff at all.
Lastly, not sure why this page has a video of someone cooking and photos of food. There is no food to be found; not even bottles of water in the room.

This is a complete no contact place. Very beautiful place in a country setting not lacking for anything and the best part....no TV to distract your time with that special someone.

Our stay was absolutely perfect! From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed and cared for. The room was cozy, spotless, and had such a romantic atmosphere — it was the ideal place for a couple’s getaway. Everything felt thoughtful and personal, and it truly made our trip special. We can’t wait to come back again for another romantic escape!

Great proximity to Point au Roche State Park! The grounds are pretty nice, and it's great to have a working, communal kitchen. The coffee is also super strong and very delicious.
The customer service is good - our code didn't work, and when I called the help line, they were able to reset the code within five minutes. Overall very responsive and communicative - they message you via email and text.
I stayed in the Angler Room and thought the beds were pretty awful. The walls are thin, and our flimsy headboard would knock against the wall if we so much as sat down on the bed. I had also asked for the twin beds to be pushed together, which was confirmed via text, but that was not the case. The shower didn't get too hot, and the water pressure could've been better. Cute decor that didn't seem dated or generic.
Overall, I'd stay again and try another room.

Stayed in a suite. beautiful room, huge bathtub very nice. The only thing are the curtains. Why don't they cover the whole window? Plenty of bugs are trying to get in, I had to close all the lights so that the bugs don't get in. Please fix that.
