I live in Vermont and stumbled upon this gem of a property this past fall when looking for an affordable best friends getaway that still felt special even though we were not far from home. I was kore than impressed with the great room with fireplace, and we really enjoyed cooking dinner in the communal kitchen. Chef’s stove and all the amenities, including Keurig coffee for the morning was such a great touch of hospitality. On my first visit my best friend and I stayed in the Planter Suite and there was a huge jacuzzi tub and fireplace and the bed was very comfortable.I have since been back three more times and have referred friends and family members. I have always received timely texts with check-i information, including the code to get into the main house and whatever suite I had selected doe the visit. I have met some wonderful travelers there as well and have even shared meal time with them in the dining room, which sits at least 8-10 people. This was already my favorite local place to stay, but today the owners went above and beyond. I had a friend who was cloning in from out of town and were were going to spend the evening together. At 3pm of check in day I was told that their grandmother fell and they had to bring her to the ER and therefore would not be able to join me. i had always had pleasant and courteous interactions with the hosts over text so I asked if there was any way I could move my reservation until the next day.Their fast response could have been a boiler plate cancellation policy yet instead, the owners first expressed their sympathy for my friends grandmother and hoped that she was okay. Then they so kindly said I could move the reservation.I really and truly appreciated the human and compassionate response and this is yet another reason why this is my absolute favorite place to stay ij the Plattsburgh, NY /Burlington’s VT region. Its just a 40 minute drive from VT, which includes a ferry ride with beautiful view. Given the amenities and what Point au Roche Lodge provides , in addition to their exceptional customer service, this is by far the best value within 100 miles of Burlington and Plattsburgh. 11/10 would HIGHLY recommend this hidden gem.

I have never had a worse sleep at a hotel. Firstly, the walls are so thin that you can hear the people next to you (and the people next to them) chat, pee, cough, etc; on top of that? Every 30 minutes on routine there is a loud, persistent banging that lasts about 30 bangs each time. We have a long drive tomorrow and have been attempting to fall asleep since 10pm (it’s now 6am) with no such luck. Would not recommend.

We stayed there for one night during December. It is also an AirBnB. Overall an average experience.Cons:1. There was no manager at the property. The code to enter the property was not sent beforehand. Some guests had to open the door for us after we rang the bell several times. We had to wait outside in freezing cold for more than 5 min. This is a big no no for me. All the information has to be sent to the guests before their arrival.2. We didn't know which room was ours. There was no contact information there. I had to find it online and ring them up3. Sometimes no one answered the call4. Our first room's toilet didn't flush. There was no one to fix it. Luckily there was another room available and we were given that.5. Some of the amenities were not provided like toothpaste, moisturizer etc.6. The walls are very thin. You can basically hear people from adjacent rooms and rooms abovePros:1. The location is nice, it's right across the street from the State Park2. The property is easily accessible from the road and there is plenty of parking3. Interiors are well maintained and has plenty of space in the common areas4. There are game rooms as well5. The kitchen is well stuffed6. The rooms are spacious and nice

One of the best places I’ve stayed. My boyfriend and I stayed here over Christmas this year and had a great time. The fireplace and jacuzzi in the room, full kitchen, and cozy common room were definitely highlights. The location was perfect for us visiting Montreal, and Burlington, and there was great hiking nearby. The managers were helpful and communicative, and check in/out was easy. Would definitely stay again!

The lodge is reasonably nicely looking, and does looks impressive from the outside. If you use the front door then you enter the great room with the hanging walkway under the vaulted ceiling with the reading nook, or if you use the rear entrance as I did then there's the large yet average looking shared kitchen and dining space before you walk through to the shared general area, which is definitely the visual key to the rental.Unfortunately our visit was marred because of the smell of diesel fuel as there had been a small leak in the basement a few days prior. The smell was everywhere, including the bedrooms and bathrooms and couldn't be escaped, and unlike some smells, your nose doesn't become accustomed to it so the smell goes away or you can ignore it, it's in every single breath you take.I assume the smell will continue to dissipate so should be good for future visitors (indeed the owners had all the screened doors open in the AM to help ventilate the place out more thoroughly) but am disappointed that the facility wasn't closed given the known issues with breathing diesel fumes. I do appreciate Yuri's customer service in trying to right the issue however in this instance it was too late.

Point Au Roches Lodge is a huge log home with 4 rooms & 5 suites, all with their own beautiful bathroom. Some have fireplaces & Jacuzzis, & their own deck or balcony! When you enter the home you are in a huge great room filled with seating areas of comfortable couches & chairs, a fireplace & a selection of games. There is a dining area, beautifully stocked kitchen, & a den with an assortment of books, wine glasses & a kegerator! The rooms feel luxurious & are comfortably furnished & large with comfortable beds, pillows, plush towels & sliding glass doors to the outside. There is also a screened gazebo, & fire pit. The host, Yuri, was easy to communicate with & pleasant to work with! My husband & I enjoyed our stay & our only regret is that we only reserved one night! I highly recommend Point Au Roches Lodge & will definitely return in the future!

Absolutely loved our stay at Point Au Roche Lodge. The common areas were great. The rooms were beautiful and the service was top notch. Easy access into the main door and bedroom door. Lodge is very clean and tidy. The main great room had cool things to read and look at. We will be back!
