The Potsdam Public Library is a wonderful, beautiful, and spacious community center and a true local gem. It is much more than just books, offering an eclectic array of free programming for everyone at every age. Events and classes include fiddle jams, author presentations, LEGO workshops, Library Babies, an Artist Guild, and community events. The atmosphere is peaceful, clean, welcoming, and conducive to study and learning. The staff are super friendly, helpful, and ready to assist. The well-lit space has ample tables for private work, a children’s area with toys, and private meeting rooms that can be checked out. There are laptops to use, terrific WiFi, and an extensive selection of books and movies. They even loan items like snowshoes. The library is very in tune with community interests, featuring displays on local authors and topics. It is a great space with a reservable classroom upstairs and offers the bonus of being open on Sundays. It is a true resource for the community.
Cozy, warm and inviting. The selection of books was fantastic.

Beautiful building, the kindest staff you’ll ever meet, and dedicated to making their community better. How could you not feel respected and welcome when you come in? The community really loves this library, and it’s hard not to.

After watching an Auditing Erie County segment I have to say your building is absolutely beautiful. *the bear resistant can was a nice touch too. Marie was an absolute joy. Its nice to see a friendly face who obviously respects everyone she encounters. Kudos to her.
