I have been getting my hair cut by Kara for over two years now. There was a mix up on the phone and I had my most recent trim done by Sarah instead. She did a good job so I asked if she could book me an appointment with her to touch up the color in my ombre styled hair... Big mistake. My hair looked like I had patchy golden highlights with a root that had grown in for over six months! I thought I would be okay with it, but upon arriving home an hour later I called the salon and asked if the damage could be fixed. I decided to ask for a refund and had my hair fixed elsewhere because why have more damage done to my hair if it could not be done right the first time...? I was told "I don't think we can do a refund" and was out $90... On top of this, while my hair was processing SUNY Potsdam students were outside peacefully protesting. Sarah took the time to go outside and yell, "White Power" as well as make horrific comments to those inside the salon ("I am not racist, but...")... some of whom joined in with the racist banter. Needless to say I will not be going back to Shear Creations anymore. I am appalled the lack of respect for long time customers, but more so for the African Americans in our community.
