Beautiful old building and great, super helpful staff. Usually there's space to park in front but if its busy, just park by the IGA and walk over. I ship stuff a ton and this is one of my favorite post offices, hands down.

I think this is very strange that 2 days have gone by and nobody on racquette road potsdam has received any mail???? How does that even happen there wasn't a holiday. Where is all of our mail????

It is an old building, and it is desperate need of a facelift. The register area where you find the tellers is very small and cramped. There are a lot of displays for USPS packaging items and very little room to stand. Once there are 3 people there, it gets uncomfortable. I have been using this Post Office a lot since I started working in the area, and I find the customer service to be great. I do a lot of shipping for work, and I go in with all of my labels filled out and ready to go and there is no hassle. I don't have a P.O. Box here, so I can't say how the service is for that. I like how they have two tables for things like Certified Mail labels and other service labels.

Do not use public mailboxes they do not get emptied regularly my bills continue to be late resulting in fees and a headache. What a joke

As a long time resident of the Potsdam postal district, I have always found the people at the post office very helpful. A college town has a rise and fall in the call for office services. Add to that the number of students and faculty from other countries, some of whom can be difficult to understand and be understood, address changes, and packages to be sent and received. And on top of all this is the reluctance of Congress to fund services adequately and I, for one, think the postal employees deserve medals.

Unbelievable. I walk in, no one's in front of me, but the woman behind the counter says she's in the middle of a transaction and can't help me yet. Some guy is filling out address labels for the four packages he's mailing (and the counter woman is processing). Whenever I need to mail a package, THE SAME WOMAN tells me to fill out the label BEFORE the transaction starts. Y'know why? Because if the transaction starts and THEN I need to fill out a label, NO ONE CAN INITIATE A TRANSACTION until I finish. I went in to buy a stamp. ONE STAMP. It took 20 minutes! And for some reason THE OTHER TWO USPS EMPLOYEES BEHIND THE COUNTER COULDN'T HELP ANYONE!!! I was wrong up at the top. It's ALMOST unbelievable. I guess I should've expected this. This is EXACTLY why people hate the post office and the USPS. Incompetent, inconsiderate, idiotic -- and those are just three words beginning with "i" that come to mind when I think of this post office. I could have a field day with the rest of the alphabet.
