I'm vacationing in the area and needed to do some shared branching. I went to the location in U.S. 9. There was a line out the door (on a Wednesday afternoon), but the teller stations were all open. 5 tellers with 0 customers. I figured the people in line needed something more than a simple cash withdrawal (through share branching). I asked the tellers if this credit union did share branching. No one said anything. They looked at each other as if I had just spoken some unknown language. So I asked again. The seated teller told me to go to the ATM, but that involves a few I didn't want to pay. Not one of those tellers showed any kindness or customer service. Whoever manages that location needs to do some major training. I talked with another customer out front who also has had issues. The people at the hotel I'm staying at also had nothing good to say about this credit union. If Hudson Valley CU doesn't do shared branching, a simple answer to my question would have been nice. Why couldn't any of those tellers at least pretend to be kind and somewhat concerned about customer service. That is not how customers should be treated. Do better.

This is our home branch for personal & business. Carmen, Brian & Jackie are amazing 🤩 Not only are they super friendly and accommodating to us, but we have referred several friends and family that have had the same experiences as well. We are in there on a weekly basis and they continue to steer us in the right direction. We highly recommend HVCU and especially this particular branch. Thanks guys, two thumbs up 👍👍

After 12 years with HVCU I’m considering leaving. Applied for overdraft checking protection and denied. Fees have been implemented after years of no monthly fee service. Other fees have doubled . Calling c/s -waits are over 15 mins. Hang up numerous times. The personal are pleasant enough but they don’t make the rules!

Ended up refinancing my car through this credit union. Long story short I got a letter in the mail saying they don’t have my title, later confirmed that they do and now they’re telling me that I have to go to the dmv to release the previous lien and put them on it. Nobody ever told me when I refinanced that I would have to do this and now I have to go out of my way to deal with a problem that they should have handled. I signed the paperwork and they said they’d handle the rest. Clearly not.

I filed a dispute over 3 weeks ago, won the dispute and got a letter saying so, however, to this day I still have not received my money from the dispute that was won. I have called a total of 33 times to figure out what’s going on, and that’s not an exaggeration!! I get a different answer and or excuses almost every time, none of the different sectors of this credit union seem to be communicating adequately. I’ve been told wait 3-5 business days more times than I care to count, I’ve been told I’d receive a call back with more information multiple times, I’ve been left on hold only to be hung up on, I’ve been told a ticket has been made to fix the issue another handful of times for nothing to come of it, the same notes from the calls and the dispute for some reason aren’t available to the cards department, the physical branch, and chargeback customer service, they each have bits and pieces of the notes and faxes from me, making this process even more of a pain, WHY IS THAT?! And of those 33 calls in the last couple of weeks I’ve only spoken to ONE representative that seemed like they were actually trying to get to the bottom of this, If I could give -3 stars I most certainly would. TAKE YOU BUISNESS ELSEWHERE ESPECIALLY IF YOU’RE DEALING WITH LARGE SUMS OF MONEY
I also forgot to add that a representative not only was extremely rude and unprofessional, but also LIED TO ME, claiming that they made a call on my behalf to the company I filed the dispute against, only for me to find out that wasn’t true after thorough email and phone call investigation on my own part being that what the bank representative told me didn’t make any sense, it’s truly baffling that they would treat someone whose been doing business with them for almost a decade like this

As an institution, you can't beat this credit union. The problem comes when you need something out of the ordinary. An employee without the experience will try to get through the issue. Do yourself a favor and have it escalated to a senior banker. Management is great and will likely solve your issue.

All we can say is WOW, the staff at Hudson Valley Credit Union CONSISTENTLY goes above and beyond with their level of member services! The staff in the Call Center and the staff in their Route 9 Poughkeepsie branch are friendly, knowledgeable, and eager to provide solutions that fit our needs! We are beyond impressed!

They have gotten worse. Less customer service, taking away programs or parts of their programs that members need. Disappointed

I have a car lease with HVCU and I have been paying monthly bills through automatic bill pay without missing a single payment for 24 straight months. It was difficult to set up the monthly bill pay to begin with, but once it was finally set up, they were taking their money as expected. Exactly 2 years after I set this up, they stopped taking my money. I called to see what the problem was, and they told me that I needed to frequently look at my account or the bill pay would be terminated and that I would have to set it up again. Why? Why do I need to log in and look at my lease account to prevent you from deleting my autopay setup? The woman on the phone couldn't provide a good reason. I then tried to set it up again, and the system could not find me using my social security number or my account number. I gave up and set up bill pay through my personal bank. In 30 years of leasing cars, I have never had to do this. From the other reviews that I am reading, it sounds like HVCU is not a serious lender and they have inadequate technology. This will be the last time I do business with them.Update from May 6th, 2024. Just got my statement from HVCU. Guess what's on the bill... $25 late fee. This company is outrageous. This is a total scam. Their answer for terminating auto bill pay was that sometimes people die while they have a loan open, so after 2 years autopay gets turned off. Do yourself a favor, and avoid aggravation, do not do business with this company.

I recently had a terrible experience with Hudson Valley Credit Union while trying to apply for a loan. It took forever to get a hold of someone, and when I finally did, I never dealt with the same person twice. There was absolutely no personal touch, and they never responded to my emails. This lack of communication and consistency made the entire process frustrating and unprofessional. I wouldn't recommend Hudson Valley Credit Union to anyone looking for a smooth and efficient loan application process.

Not a customer, but this business allowed someone else to open an account using my information. Only way I found out was when I got sent letters and inquired about what the letters were about and where the bank is located. They refused to freeze or close the account despite me telling them it was not me. Required proof it was fraudulent but then would not release any documents about the account. Would not tell me anything about how many transactions occurred or anything. When the police got involved, the bank refused to provide them any information or documents. I sent a fraud affidavit on 1/25/24 and received confirmation of receipt. A week later I received correspondence that they were still waiting on my affidavit. I re-sent the original email on 2/2/2024 and just now received confirmation that the account was closed AFTER I sent the affidavit again. They are horrendous with doing due diligence as the account should have never been open. They do not cooperate with victims or the police when identity theft is involved. They should be looked into and denied to be insured by the NCUA. Do not recommend this bank! They are horrible and encourage fraudulent behavior !

Disgraceful, terrible business. Changing terms/requirements then penalizing you when you don't meet them. Abysmal customer service where they just want to pass you along to someone else rather than actually help you with an issue or god forbid, resolve it with you an a productive and helpful manner. Do not do business with this terrible company!
