Went to Mavis to get a nail removed from a brand new tire that I bought from them a month prior. They told me it was not pluggable due to it being near the side wall and they tried to sell me on needing a new tire. Got a second opinion, and the mechanic said it was very easy to plug that it wasn’t close to the side wall!

The staff was friendly and the work was done timely. But I purchased two new front tires and the price I was quoted didn’t include aligning the tires. After the tires were installed I was asked if I wanted a handful of additional services. They weren’t pushy but I was very disappointed to be told I had to pay an additional $110 if I wanted my new tires aligned. I’ve never been quoted a price for tires without an alignment included up front.

Worst experience... ALL THEY WANT IS CUSTOMER to BUY NEW TIRES even if not necessary.
Had a Flat tire in Tesla, obvious Nail in the center of the tire. I left the car there in early morning. 3 Hours Later received a call, insisting and pressuring to change all tires said "trads are Low" .
I have replaced all the tires 1.5 years ago, drove only about 10 K(Tire milage is 40 K). I requested them to fix the flat for now as I had a trip plan this weekend. THEY REFUSED to FIX the FLAT TIRE.
Right away I took car other shop, got it fixed in 30 min and SURPRISINGLY the mechanic said TIRE are only "HALF" worn out. No need for new tires right away!!!!
NEVER TRUST THIS FREEDOM PLAIN Rd, POUGHKEEPSIE MAVIS PEOPLE. Just a Bunch of crooks...

Bate n switch for the second time at this place. I bought a tire, called and spoke to Darnel. He quoted 200.00 we said hold it. Went in n owner or mgr said we cant give u that price and it was 40.00 more there than online- wouldn’t match amazon price either. Sold on amazon for 189.00. We needed right away as we had tire appointment. They have done this twice to my husband. They are crooked!

Inconsistent with the oil change prices, for changing the filter it was 15$ instead of 5$

I have never dealt with so much incompetence from a tire shop, both my wife’s jeep, and my Silverado have leaks after getting the tires replaced. And this is happened a few times. But what finally got me mad enough to write. This is last time my wife had her tires changed on her jeep a few months ago they broke the tire pressure monitor sensor and bent the valve stem and didn’t say anything about it. My wife ended up taking her jeep to the dealer for some other work and while it was there, she said to check on why the tire leaks, they showed her the bent valve stem and cracked tire pressure monitor that had been damaged from the tire being replaced. So yet another added expense on top of the already expensive tires for the jeep. A tire shop should not have these problems. They do hundreds of sets of tires a week and my Silverado, I brought it back two times for a leak after the tires were replaced this past fall, it still has not been fixed properly and about once a week I need to drag the compressor out and fill it up with air. It’s not a puncture in the tire. It’s actually leaking from the bead, I showed them with soapy water the second time and still hasn’t fixed. Do they not have bead sealer and a wire brush? Oh, and I don’t know what kind of gun they are putting the tires on with, but I bent the lug wrench trying to get the leaky wheel off to put the spare on so that I could use the truck while Mavis was fixing the tire. I ended up having to bring the whole truck because I mangled the factory tire iron, and the Lugnuts would not budge. They’re not supposed to be that tight!!! Are torque Wrenches not a thing? I own one….. if they could get the tires right this place is convenient it’s a mile down the road from my house. And the past few times I was just hoping it was a bad day for the mechanic or that they were in a rush, etc. but this is just plain incompetence now.

Horrible people that work at this shop. " can't change your tire because your car is to low" brought it to the other mavis on 44

I came in and spoke to manager Chris for an oil change. They worked on my car in a timely manner and provided me with upcoming services they recommend to maintain my vehicle.

Alexander was absolutely phenomenal!!! He took the time out of his day to put air in all 4 of my tires!!!! I cannot recommend this place enough!! Ask for Alexander when you come 10/10!!!!

Darnell smith offered amazing costumer service, was AMAZING help and got to the route of my problem and got it taken care of efficiently and effectively. Definitely will use mavis again. If he’s there I’d recommend asking for him to get everything you need!
