As we check in at front desk, the receptionist was so nice. We ask for room facing the Hudson River and was able to get one. We also got cookies. The hotel is in process of reno and we got one that was updated. Hotel so convenient near by restaurants.

This hotel is halfway through a major renovation so it's a mixed bag. Public areas are dated and worn. Renovated rooms are nice, big, bright, beds comfy and showers powerful. People are positive and kind. All in all a good value find.

Nice large hotel in the center of Poughkeepsie. Under renovation so there is a lot of noise and mess.Rooms: The room is one of the ones renovated recently. Nevertheless, the hot water was constantly not working during the two weeks I was there. It never got corrected for more than a day and then back to not even luke warm. Too cold for a normal shower. Heat was sporadic. Frig, micro , TV and coffee pot were OK. Renovation workers were on several floor so it was always noisy all day. Housekeeping was not very thorough and sometimes not done at all.Safety: Security was OK. The hotel has a parking garage and I checked my car 3 or 4 times a day to be sure it was still there. Poughkeepsie is not a very safe area.Food & drinks: The breakfast was good and is free. Available from 7-10 am. Coffee wasn't always there because I think the construction workers drain the pot early. The bar is open until 8 pm.

Checked in on 12th October having paid up front for room front desk took 100 USD charge from our Forex card for “incidentals” without telling us - when we checked out next day staff were rude and unhelpful and refused to help - now 15 days later charge hasn’t been reversed and hotel doesn’t return our callsBreakfast is terribleRooms even on top floor fully renovated are very noisyDon’t stay here

For the cost and location near the train station, this is worth the stay. Know that it's undergoing renovations. Our room was hot because the sun heated up the room through the west-facing window and the AC wasn't very strong. Hallways were 10 degrees cooler. All-you-can eat breakfast was like most you'll find at hotels of this price. Bar shut down early on a weeknight.Rooms: A little dated but accommodating.Nearby activities: Many restaurants, bars and shops nearby. Also an urgent care, which we needed.Walkability: Can walk to the train station, restaurants and bars.

Should be called the not so grand. Management staff with lack of attentiveness to guests. Active construction making an unrestful stay. Do not stay here.Rooms: Newly renovated rooms with poor climate control and fixtures that don't function well.

Standard business hotel. They do not have room service. Instead they have a deal with Grubhub where there's no delivery fee. We could hear the person upstairs shuffling around in their room.Walkability: You need a car to get around for sure

Some evidence of water damage in hallways, room clean and large, confusing parking: make sure to keep your room key card to get promised "free parking" when checking

Called the front desk to advise that the AC in my room wasn’t working. Front desk said to bring it up in the morning so to just suffer in a hot room. If this was a motel, ok. Not acceptable for a room that I paid over $340 for one night. To top it off the front desk associate hung up on me when I was trying to get a resolution. Unacceptable.
