Victor C. Waryas Park is a beautiful waterfront park in downtown Poughkeepsie with beautiful views of the Hudson River. It is a great place to visit on the water, close to the train and bus stations. The park has a playground, many grassy picnic areas with tables, benches, public grills, and a covered pavilion. It is dog-friendly with dogs on leashes. People enjoy walking, skateboarding, bike riding, barbecuing, and playing music here. There is a bar and grill nearby and a farmers market in spring and summer. Some infrastructure needs repair and there can be trash, but it is a very welcoming park with many activities.
Watch out for the parking police even though they're not supposed to give you a ticket they do

I love that they keep the Christmas lights lit up in the trees well into winter. This is a nice an convenient spot to hangout, with a view of the Mid-hudson bridge.

Very nice experience, especially walking across the Hudson River on the old Railroad bridge, which is now a public walk way
