Entering the room I found 2 stink bugs crawling on the wall, which is surprising to find in the dead of winter.Water in the bathroom gives a sulfur smell. Their in-room brochure mentions a nearby sulfur springs as part of their history to explain the smell. Their website did not make a similar effort.Paid extra for a room with a fireplace, fireplace did not work.Cable in all the rooms is shut off, but for some reason the cable works in the bar area. Their website mentions cable reception, so that's a lie.Service is minimal with no apparent staff available past 2:00 PMThe breakfast service was pretty good, however solely due to the cook that was on duty.I would have been more forgiving if the owner didn't lie to me that he would give me a partial refund for the problems. Which led to me having to perform a charge back. Owner claimed they were selling the place, which is not an excuse for the poor service.

To start there is no breakfast anymore, lady bugs and crickets in my room.No one is even there?!?!During a recent snow storm they did not plow the long drive way my son and I had to do it ourselves. All the doors in this place are open but lights off. Creepy as hell. Yes you heard me right all the doors were open including the hotel rooms themselves!!!!Location is in some creepy part of this little townThis morning when I was plowing I heard a dad talking to his kid across the street saying if he didn’t plow in time he is pathetic loser. This place is just abandonedAlso no hot water or heat!!!Also no cable tv!!I need a refund now!!

Very sad to see the horrible reviews since the sale. Poor Susanne would be heartbroken to know this this is who they sold to

Keep your eye on this gem. Under new management with a vision and a deep respect for the past.Upon arrival, I felt welcomed. Rebecca and Jen truly shine in this establishment. The food was phenomenal; delicious, generous, with an appealing menu.I spent the day in nearby Kaaterskill Falls followed by relaxing on this beautiful porch. My evening encompassed excellent live music, dancing, and laughs.Personally, I am looking for a venue for a family reunion . I will be bringing The Bavarian Manor Hotel back for strong consideration by my family.

This place needs to be shut down immediately! Mold on the walls and bathtub. The water doesn't work so you can't even shower or brush your teeth with the water. We had to buy our own water bottles to brush our teeth. Noone was there to greet us the entire trip. It's as if we stayed at an abandoned haunted hotel. The floors are not level. Our TV was broken and the manager never came. There was no breakfast served. There was mold on the walls. We were never made aware of the water issue they lied to us. When you ran the water it was brown not hot and smelled like rotten eggs. The air vents were covered in cob webs. The entire inn was extremely dark. They had the nerve to charge us $397 for a two night stay here. I have never stayed at a hotel where you cannot even shower. My girlfriend and I were going to leave or sleep in the car it was that bad. Clearly this place has the rating that it has due to the previous owner who passed away. She clearly kept up with the maintenence. The new owners should not be in the hotel/hospitality business. Awful.

We went for dinner but couldn’t stay because the restaurant was freezing cold. Spoke to the manager and he said it was not possible to provide more heat. After going all the way there (and with reservations) we had to leave.

Food and service was some of the worst I've had I would rate it in the top 10 as a bad experience.Noteworthy details: Never got the app I ordered food was over cooked app that they supplemented was like cold pig ears .I've never given such a negative review. Up to you I'll never eat there again. Highly recommend not to eat there.

10/7/2023 ~ A party of 10, reservations for 5:00 and not served dinner until 6:30.Upon being seated I noticed crumbs on the table so I tried to swipe them off and it ended up being black mold on the table cloths. (See pictures). It was a very dim setting. I removed the top blue and white checkered tablecloth to find it seeped through to the white tablecloth underneath, but it wasn’t as bad. Because of the black mold, my water glass had been turned upside down on top of the mold, so I could not drink anything out of that glass. We should’ve gotten up & left right there but we were very hungry. The waiter literally had no clue what he was doing and seemed very nervous and unsure. He would only take four orders for mixed drinks at a time. We got desperate and grabbed another waiter and asked for a pitcher of Coke and Diet Coke, so we wouldn’t waste more time on drinks. That waiter came with six “cans” of soda and handed it to us. Because of the poor lighting, we needed our cell phone lights to read the menu.My family and I ate here last year and had no problems. It was just a disaster this year. We were not the only ones having trouble with this waiter. Another couple waited a half hour for their bill and ended up screaming at him. The food was very bland. This place needs a good scrubbing, and some good updating.BLACK MOLD IS SIMPLY UNACCEPTABLE!Food & drinks: Food was very bland & mixed drinks were too bitter. The waiter clearly was over his head.

My family and I had gone to the Bavarian Manor for decades. My wife's family comes from Bavaria, and are chefs as well as operated the Hotel Krone in Gunzenhausen, for over 30 years. My Irish Grandparents ran a bed and breakfast in Co. Mayo, Republic of Ireland for almost 40 years, and I would help them with it during the summer months. My family and I knew the previous very gracious owners, Suzanne Bauer-Oldakowski, God rest her good soul, and Chef Stan Oldakowski, and were always made to feel very welcome by them at the Bavarian Manor. My family and I wanted to give the place a try again on Saturday, 7 October 2023, and made reservations, but had to cancel as the rain was downpouring and we had my 90 year-old father-in-law with us, who really wasn't up to the 30 minute trip down the mountain to the Bavarian Manor. I called and canceled and made another appointment for Sunday. On Sunday, I called to confirm we were coming despite the rainy afternoon, and the man who answered abruptly said "I know who you are. You canceled yesterday and you have reservations for 5 o'clock. We know! Don't be late."I was a bit surprised at the rudeness but I chalked it up to unprofessionalism, lack of training or proper experience in the hospitality industry on the man's part.We arrived ten minutes early, and I parked in front to allow my father-in-law and wife to enter, as he was recently released from hospital after having pneumonia, and has a little difficulty walking. They entered the dining room and a white, bald-headed man (later identified as "Torey") asked if they had reservations. The room was near empty at the time of their arrival save for a party of three by the windows. My wife explained that we had reservations for a party of three under the name Dennis. The man rudely snapped "I know who you are. You canceled yesterday. Well you're here now anyway." He then seated my wife and father-in-law. I parked the car and joined them and my wife told me what happened. I wanted to say something to him for his rudeness but my wife said not to make a scene.Cheryl our server could not have been nicer and friendlier. She took our order and singlehandedly served the room, which began to fill up with a party on ten, then three, then two, then three other guests, in the dining room. 21 guests total by herself as well as bringing dishes out for the guests in the bar area. Our appetizers never came out. Then a male server brought out our orders, but we noticed that they were not Jagerschitzels but were Weinerschntizels, with lemon wedges and not the mushroom gravy that is normally served on the pork cutlets. He brought the dishes back and this time were with gravy. The cutlets we found were overcooked. My father-in-law only ate a small portion of his dish.My wife's pork tenderloin was very fatty and was also overcooked. She did not want to eat any of it.We did not bother ordering dessert. Cheryl was very apologetic about the way Torey spoke to my wife and father-in-law, and for any issues we had with the food.I regret to say after 40 years of coming to the Bavarian Manor, often with parties of betwen 14 and 18 people, we will never be coming back to this place. It is not the Bavarian Manor you might have visited. Do not waste your time or your money. Rudeness, nasty attitudes, and bad cooking is what you'll find.I did send an email to the hotel about our lack of enjoyable "experience" in the restaurant. We never received a reply from the owners.

Building is good looking, grand porch.Rooms are fine, musty smelling. Beds are comfortable, lots of pillow & towels. Feels a bit like staying at Grandma’s house. It’s sn old building so uneven floors and mysterious doors. Quirky.Stairs to rooms are steep & narrow. Don’t know if there are any accessible rooms.Cameras everywhere in the main rooms.Restaurant service was the worst I’ve ever experienced. Restaurant was crowded but we (two women) were seated after a few minutes wait & given menus and two bottles of water by the male waiter. Several groups, large and small, were seated after we were. After we were seated it was over an hour before anyone took our order and that was only because I got up and asked the female waitress for service when I saw the male waiter take orders from two tables seated after we were. There were only the two servers and both appeared to be very busy. The male waiter appeared to be picking & choosing the tables he waited on - and those tables got drinks & food in a reasonable time. The female waitress, who was new, said she put our orders in for both drinks and food but it appeared that both the bar and the kitchen were giving priority to tbe male waiter’s tables. There were approximately 4-5 tables that waited 1-1/2 to over 2 hours to get food. The food, when it finally came, was very good. The female waitress apologized several times for the restaurant’s problems - we did hear the male waiter apologize to some of the tables but not to us. At least one table of four, who had gotten drinks, said they were leaving after waiting over an hour for the food they ordered (which never came)—they refused to pay for their drinks.Something seriously dysfunctional is going on in that dining room.Food & drinks: The worst restaurant experience ever I’ve ever had. See main review for part of the story.

Convenient place! Went to a first time the Bavarian Manor Restaurant it's also a country Inn & bar Decided to try it!Restaurant is old school, a warm, cozy feel fireplace on each side; stuff hanging from the ceiling & beer steins on display. The only surprise was nice the speakers Spotifying smooth jazz...nice. We did have reservations might be a good idea to make them. The menu was primarily German dishes. The food was great. The Cheesecake was very creamy! In October 2023, Larry Sharpe made a campaign stop at this location.

This was the worst place I have ever stayed. I can’t say that the service was bad, there literally was no service. After a very dry dinner we went to our room. The fireplace wasn’t working, it was about 7pm so I went down to see if we could get some help. The bartender said there was no one there to help. There was no one running the hotel at all. We went back to our room, around 10pm a large party arrived, they were loud and drunk. They ran up and down the stairs yelling and drinking all night. There was no support at all. When we got up in the morning I asked the house keeper to talk to someone, she again said no one was there. She asked me if she could help and I told her about the issue. She said she would have someone reach out ti me. I have heard nothing. There was no live music offered as stated on the website, the water smelled so bad we couldn’t shower.

I don’t understand the positive reviews of this place. It looks like it has enormous potential and the location is beautiful. My stay there was just strange. When I arrived the girl behind the desk very politely insisted that I needed to pay the full balance, even AFTER I showed her the email confirming payment AND my credit card statement (no, I’m not going to pay you again “just to be sure”).The place felt very empty even though they called me last week to switch my room because someone had decided to stay an extra day(!). No one offered to help carry my 2 bags, travel crib and toddler up 2 flights of old stairs, which is fine. They provided me a pack and play but it was really old and not appropriate for a toddler to sleep in. The “second” room where I put my kid had no air flow even when I opened the window and when I asked for a fan the girl behind the desk (politely) looked at me like she had no idea what I was taking about (and I never did get a fan). I also asked for the Wi-Fi password and was told there weren’t any guest networks that required a password (there were definitely pp guest networks with 3 bars on the 2nd floor). She showed me which corners of the main floor to wave my phone and get a signal for the open network. I started to wonder if I was going crazy. We wandered into the restaurant right at 5 and encountered the bartender, who said she wasn’t the regular bartender, but she was delightful, definitely the highlight of our stay. We were lucky she was there because the waitress was very harried and ignored us for about 20 minutes (the dining room was almost completely empty, so it was just really strange to be standing there with no eye contact like we were at a crowded bar… and it was 5:30 pm). The dinner was surprisingly good- chicken schnitzel was tasty. Breakfast the next morning was fine, just really basic (not as good as dinner). As for the room… the sulfuric water didn’t really bother me although it was strong. Bottles of water would have been a nice touch. And I understand that it’s an old building and things settle so the sloped floor didn’t throw me off. But the ceiling tiles need to be replaced. And the bed was like sleeping on a board. On the plus side, I did get 1 bar of the open Wi-Fi from the far corner of my bed and the hot water worked.
