DO NOT GO TO THIS HMART - GO TO ANY OTHER HMART IN TOWN. Prices are high, selection is not great, place is CRAMPED, no parking. Also hires a really incompetent security guard who wrongfully stopped my family thinking we were stealing WITHOUT EVIDENCE. I notice him following us around the store. That’s uncomfortable but fine - if you think you have reason to monitor me then go ahead. Has the audacity to stop me and doesn’t even tell me the reason. He points to my jacket and makes me show him what’s in it - I immediately show him my inner pocket - A BEANIE. IT’S THE MIDDLE OF WINTER LOL. He thinks it’s not that and points again to my outer pocket which I flip inside out - NOTHING AT ALL because I already showed him what was creating the bulk. He proceeds to stop my younger cousin who carries a fanny pack as he’s traveling from out of country - there’s only gum FROM AUSTRALIA and some other little things, nothing you can buy from H Mart. He demands for a receipt from a LITTLE KID for every single item in his bag and claims that “it’s the law to have every single receipt for everything you’ve purchased.” He goes on to claim we were concealing things, which we didn’t, we have gloves and beanies because we are in the middle of WINTER, clothes are bulky. We request for the manager to see if they’re going to double down on this outrageous situation and the low IQ manager backs up the even lower IQ security guard saying “it’s his job.”We asked this rock for brains straight up, “Did you see us take something?” He admits no! “Do you have a video of us taking something?” He says no again! What a joke. If you had sufficient evidence, feel free to stop us. The fact that he had no sufficient evidence and stopped us based on vibes is insane, and makes up some laws to scare and bully an underaged kid is pathetic! If you really want to do your job properly, you should be observant enough to know we entered the store just as we left. How can I conceal merchandise if you didn’t see me take anything? I don’t have a photo, but I screenshotted and uploaded the photo that was already posted from another review (thank you reviewer Gabriel Pacheco) because clearly this guy is shoddy at his job and wants to power trip just to feel something because he’s doing absolutely nothing. 1/11 4:30PM

How can you assume your customers know which bakeries are fresh and which are frozen when you put both on the same shelf? BE NICE TO YOUR CUSTOMERS ! Your cashier even didn’t watch me when I say good evening, terrific working body.

Security guard extremely rude! Every day they close 10 mins before. As we speak I’m outside & 2 other clients have come to try to buy goods. A manager should look into closing on time not 10 mins before.

Went here this summer to accompany my mom shopping, and was standing in front of the frozen eel to check the prices, without realizing that I was standing where an elderly lady staff member was preparing samples. Not sure why any staff member is blocking any customers from browsing product just to make samples, but instead of verbally requesting me to move aside, the old lady physically put her hands on me without even saying anything first to push me aside. Shocked, I apologized right away out of habit, but then realized what happened and felt disgusted by her behavior. I have shopped at multiple locations of H-mart and many asian supermarkets before, but NEVER have I ever had ANY staff member put their hands on me for ANY reason.
I tried to file a complaint with the nearest security guard, just to warn the staff that this particular staff member had the audacity to put her hands on customers so that they could talk to her later on their own time, but instead the guard forced me to walk back to the old lady and hear her side out (which I tried to refuse, but it fell on deaf ears). I recounted what happened, and she just denied even doing anything to my face, and then the guard said “she’s sorry she did that”. I could tell the guard was trying to lie on her behalf to diffuse the situation, but it only pissed me off more. Dishonesty is not accountability. After I repeated to her that she touched me, and she kept shaking her head, denying and refusing to admit it, I walked off shaking my head at both of them in disgust saying “no, she’s clearly not sorry”.
I understand if she was too afraid of the consequences to confess in front of the guard, but even if she was, then she shouldn’t have put her hands on me at ALL to begin with, because it was completely unnecessary to get me to move. She did not even utter a word before putting her hands on me, it’s not like she stood there shouting and being ignored by me for a minute, she said NOTHING and then immediately pushed me aside as if I was an object, and not a person.
I’m now looking up H-mart locations to go to and recalling this happened, and I’ve decided I’m never going back to this location after the way that staff member treated me. Be warned customers, if a staff member treats you poorly as a customer at this store, there will be zero consequences for anybody but yourself. Another reviewer trying to return a defected item shows that even if I took up my complaint with the manager, I wouldn’t have gotten a proper apology even if I fell to my knees and begged for it. Abhorrent behavior for anybody employed all around.

Every time I shop at this location, I struggle to find help because very few employees speak English. This makes my shopping trips take much longer than they should, as I often have to search for products on my own. When it’s time to check out, the experience gets even more frustrating — I’m rushed to bag everything myself while impatient customers wait behind me, and the staff offers no support to paying customers trying to get out of the store.
The employees, especially some of the older men assigned to collect carts outside, are often rude and unproductive.
To be fair, the store does have fresh products and a large inventory, which I appreciate. However, what this location really needs is proper customer service training for all employees and an improved checkout system. Installing self-checkout lanes would make a huge difference.

the sign says open till 10 , I came last time around 9:55 and they still let me in but today I came like 9:50 the guy standing there said I can’t come in cuz is closed , If customers aren't allowed in even ten minutes before closing time, why isn't it written on the door? And why do different employees treat me differently?👎🏻

I can’t believe I wasn’t let in at 9:55pm before closing, when I told them I needed to buy 1 quick item. Your store hours are 10pm. And they often pull the curtains on the meat/banchan sections 9:50pm which is too early. I go after work so sometimes it’s difficult to get there earlier. You lose me as a customer then because I have to go to Hanyang which is open 24/7.
