Very rude and unprofessional service. Louise makes up prices as she goes, and talks nonstop about very personal details and even her coworker. They do not honor your appointment times and will have you waiting for hours. They will downplay their actions and wash your hair so you can’t leave until she’s ready to complete your service. MONEY HUNGRY AND SELFISH. DO NOT GO!! READ OTHER REVIEWS! SAVE YOUR MONEY!

Prices are ridiculous. Everything is a damn charge, length is a charge $35, if you don’t come back in a month it’s another $40, style $25. ON TOP OF THE REGUALR PRICE SERVICE PLUS TAXXXXXXX. I WOULD NEVER RETURN HERE AGAIN!! Spent $247 for something that should’ve only cost about $130-$150.

This is an unsafe place as a worker said they had a gun on them when the cops were being called (read for more info)..The ABSOLUTE WORST experience. I’ve been coming to Impulse for 10 years when they started down stairs, not it’s upstairs and Louise is the owner. She is absolutely horrible, very unprofessional, doesn’t care about the amount. Of time you’ve supported her, charges for the money she loss when the shop was closed for 3 months during Covid (as she told me), she gossips about her Worker Anita constantly, talking about her health, weight & performance. She gossips about her sons personal business about being chronically sick, crying to her while in Canada about his brother being mean to him & a lot of unnecessary things I did not need to know or come there forI got my hair interlocked ($195), trimmed( $25) & the problem came when she two strand twist my hair which should’ve been charged as a style as she usually would’ve done for the past 10 years, but instead charged me $90 for retwist. Any loctician would charge that as a style price. I tried to talk to her and see where the sudden change came since I’ve been coming and getting the same style for 10 YEARS and she threatened to call the cops. Her son Ramon came to resolve and brought the price down to $280 from $337 which I was comfortable with. I tried to pay $100 cash and the rest card or Zelle and she proceeded to call the cops saying her machine was down and saying I wasn’t trying to pay. I started to record myself for safety and her son changed his mind about the resolve pushing it back to the regular price. He also stated he had a GUN on him once the police were called. This is the worst experience and what hurts the most is I’ve been a loyal customer for 10 years and traveled from out of town to still support her and she treated me like I was someone new trying to get over on her. Her son listened to me way more than she did. I do NOT recommend ever going here as the prices are extremely high and she charges extra to pay off her Covid debt as she slipped up and said during our heated discussion.Service: Dreadlocks

They don’t honor appointment times. They don’t even tell you hey, I know you had an appointment but we’re a little backed up today. People have children and pay for babysitters. My appointment was at 11:30am I walked out by 3pm because my sitter had to leave at 4 and my hair had been nothing but washed. 3 and a half hours just sitting WHEN I HAD AN APPOINTMENT. If you don’t mind waiting all day long to get your hair done, they do a good job with hair. But I have babies, can’t do it.

My husband had a HORRIBLE experience at this place. A disgrace to the culture. Unprofessional, and disgusting customer service skills.He came in and the “stylist” that was present that evening said they were closed (someone was getting knotless braids in the shop at the time) but she insisted on asking him what he needed. My husband told her it’s ok I’ll go somewhere else,I need to get my hair done this evening. She followed him downstairs and insisted to ask him what he needed done, and asked for his name. (He needed his hair washed and retwist)She said it wouldn’t take long, she will tell her boss that it was last minute appointment, and she proceeded to wash my husbands hair. She received a call from the shop owner, and the owner told the “stylist” to tell my husband to leave with his hair soak and wet, twist half pulled out, and call back to make an appointment. She then also harassed my husband and tried to take a photo of him because he said he will write a review. Stay away from this place, just disgusting and weird behavior.

Had an appointment for 10:30 for a lox and retwist for above shoulder locs got to the salon had 2 heads in progress and 1 undone , no apologies nothing website said 85 dollars but charges something different in person I didn’t leave until 3:30. Second time I came here would not go again and would most definitely not recommend

I made an appointment for my daughter and myself for July 30, 2020. I made my appointment since June 8, 2020. I called the shop on July 14, 2020 to check that my appointment is confirmed for that date. I was told by the shop that my phone number wasn't posted in my appointment and that I would need to send them my phone number and name of my daughter and myself and they would fix it for me online. I did exactly that the same day. Now, today July 27, 2020, I received email amd text that my appointment was denied, so I called the shop only to be told that I didn't put the number. I told the shop that I did what they told me to do which is send my phone number and other info for them to input it into the online system. The shop gonna tell me that I didn't send the number,so now I feel likethey calling me a liar, so I state that I did send the number and have proof of the text that I did. I'm very disappointed because Im a long time customer of impulse since when they had the restaurant and barbershop but now all that's closed. My hairstylist back then was Jackie, wish she was still around. So, needless to say I shall never return because of this. I've attached proof.

Louise is rude,condescending and very unprofessional. I think this is one of the oldest/old school Jamaican in the business. Lacking in customer service and doesn't know how to communicate effectively to customers. She also believes that she knows everything and becomes offended when you tell her exactly what your preference is with regards to hairstyle. She fell short with my son's hair. Had someone else style his hair...though the appointment was with her. I had to insult her and sought to remind her that she needs to listen more and speak less. She had promised to re-rod my son's hair free of charge three days after her failed attempts with his hair. When we returned...she requested that a waiver be signed...just in case his hair got frizzy! No waiver was signed and needless to say we won't be returning!! It was a horrible experience! I now understand why we fall short of supporting our own. We cannot support people like that! Louise is ignorant,petty,uneducated,boorish and totally missed the mark when it comes to business! When a business owner says she doesn't want to speak to you and she's the "salon owner"(that would be renter)...then you definitely know you've entered the twilight zone. Walk away people...what she charges isn't worth the aggravation!!! No one needs to feel bullied at a hair salon!! My mistake was not taking the time to read the reviews before making an appointment. I just read them. No surprise here. They were all bad. Why is this woman still in business??? She doesn't know what the hell she's doing!!!
