Don’t be fooled by the covid reviews as of right now I can assure you that this gym is honestly 5 stars. The gym is always clean. The staff is really nice and cooperative. The janitor and the staff are always cleaning many times throughout the day and restocking soap and toilet paper. The benches and squat racks are usually always open and you never have to wait for cables. It’s a chill location that doesn’t get packed (besides from 6-8pm). Trustworthy community that doesn’t steal the cable attachments or break the machines (unlike Blink) and haven’t really had any bad experiences here. Would 100% recommend Retro if you’re choosing between Blink or Retro by far. Another addition the weights go up to 120lbs and they have two punching bags!

Worse gym to ever exist. Manager has lack of respect towards members that he doesn't like and treats those he likes better.

These companies only care about money........ like, d*** people really don't understand what customer service is.....What's the point of not having a contract if your gonna keep charging me & once my card is no longer on file & then say my account is now in collections when I haven't even gone to the gym in seven months nor has there been a card on file this whole time.......The fine print is that you need to cancel your membership for them to not charge you every month, even if there is no card on file or even if you haven't been there in over half a year.....That makes a whole lot of sense, capitalism at its finest. This is there whole trick they have, so grimy & yet so smart because they know people will not think to cancel, only remove the payment method... & you also have to go in person to cancel just so that there is higher chance of them getting more money, & you not being able to make it to cancel before they charge you again.I really hate people sometimes lol250$ going to some people that built an extremely unethical business like this, even tho I haven't been there in the last 7 months.......& not that 250$ is much, it's just this is a horrible way of going about treating your clients. Things come up in peoples lives, reading the fine print of a long contract for a gym membership is not something 99% of people do.No contract, pay month to month is what is I was told + a yearly maintenance fee.ABC Fitness Solutions & First Line Credit. Thank you so much for the service you are providing to society just gotta love it

A huge number of complaints for such a small gym, the chances of these customers all lying, but all have one or two main complaints about one common person says a lot. The fact that not one customer was met with an apology, a solution , a follow up recovery, poor customer service.

As a member of retro fitness and considering today is my last day going back to this location at Springfield in queens village,I have never in my life experience such racist treatment coming from the front desk person Mike....My gym membership is paid in full for the entire year of 2023.....This membership has been paid in full since Dec 31, 2022 I don't owe on this account!! long story short I can bring a guest with me at the gym.....But today Mr Mike since he owns the building and has the braveness to tell a paying customer that she has the choice to go somewhere else and was very distasteful and nasty I'm cancelling my membership and going somewhere else where they have manners in speaking with their customers and don't treat their gym members like trash.

This gym has a nice equipment and nice yellow colors. Although there is two treadmills out of order and one bicycle that needs to be fixed that has been broken for months. Also this gym does not do temperature readings for corona virus upon entry like the other gyms in NYC, I am not sure how this management is allowed to get away with this and still stay open? Manager there is also very rude person making false accusations and degrading my character.

This gym has a franchise that says they have no association with them, I cancelled my membership as well, and they continued to take money from my account. I will launch a dispute with the BBI as wellHe is a thief and you cancelled your membership as well and they continued to take money out of your account

Overall good gym experience. But it needs more hand sanitizer and cleaning stations for all members to utilize, and new more durable workout mats.

If I could give this gym zero stars I would! I've been with this gym for 3 years since they opened, when I moved out of state for 4 months in 2020, I tried to cancel my membership and they wouldn't let me. So I was paying for my membership while I lived out of state. Fast forward to this year, I had to get surgery and was in the hospital for almost two months. When I tried to cancel the membership over the phone they told me I had to come in person, I explained my situation and that I was bedridden in the hospital, but they still didn't cancel my membership. Now I find out that I owe $81 for the two months when I wasn't able to get out of bed. I spoke to the manager, the billing company and corporate, and they all said it's up to the manager (who's clearly money hungry) to remove the overdue fees on the account. I decided to cancel the membership completely, but they won't cancel it until I pay the $81, so I'm gonna keep getting charged every month and it's gonna go to collections. Please do yourself a favor and don't come to this gym unless you want to be tied to something miserable.

I like this location.Always clean, great smoothies, weights are organized, it’s not overly crowded at all…The two floors balance the amount of people in one area which I appreciate.Good music. Way better than the Astoria location.

LACKS ATTENTION TO MACHINESThe staff should really push to fix the machines. I see machines that stay broken for more than 4 months. Dip machine. Chest press. Shoulder press. All broken. Spanish music is very nice.
