I got a NYS inspection in May 2025 from Bellerose Car Care. Hasib was the manager there at the time of my inspection and he later moved to Rice's Automotive.
Hasib had ordered the wrong front tires for my car, which caused several dashboard errors. He had me come to Rice's Automotive (new shop he is now at) to resolve issues from my inspection. Hasib realized and admitted he had ordered front tires that are the wrong size for my car but he blames the mechanic (Ernie) for installing those wrong tires and he says it's Ernie's fault.
He sent me to Hempstead Discount Tire (where Ernie is now at) and that Ernie will take care of the situation and fix it. I went there and Ernie said it's not his fault and it's Hasib's fault and that he (Ernie) will not be fixing the tires. Hasib said he feels bad and he will have his mechanic (Cruz) fix this situation
Instead of providing the new tires I was owed and paid for, Cruz installed old, used tires from 2023. The proof was undeniable: one tire had a visible, pre-existing patch on it. This same patched tire went completely flat hours after I drove home
I called Cruz immediately and he said to bring the car back and he'll take care of it. At this point, my trust was completely broken. A shop that passes off old, defective parts as a legitimate 'fix' is not a shop that operates with integrity and an excellent standard of service and I refused to waste any more time in receiving a bare minimum standard of service
Their solution was minimal and dishonest
I would not recommend this shop to anyone

I have used Rice for over 10 years for service on two cars. I used them because I trust them. Recently I had my 11 year old car upgraded. Including full detailing. The car came back in showroom condition, and felt great. Of course I highly recommend them. They treat each customer with respect and they know cars.

Rice's Auto Repair provided excellent service at a reasonable price for my brake change. They completed the job quickly, and I didn’t have to wait until the next day. I really appreciate their professionalism, friendlyness and honesty.

I have used Rice's for over 20 years. They are known for their wheel alignments. Today, we had our tires mounted and balanced and a four wheel alignment done. They took the car at 11 and by 1:30 they called us letting me know the car was ready for pickup. I was actually not expecting the car to be ready so soon. I actually expected it to be ready at l the end of the day. Tony is always helpful and accommodating and Greg always does a great job at making sure that your car goes straight.

My vehicle just so happens to break down in front of the shop on a Sunday while they were closed. One of the employees just so happens to pull up and assist me with my vehicle. The next morning my car was repair and in better condition than I originally had. Great service and communication will highly recommend
