I read some of the reviews about poor service at the hotel and unsafe neighborhood surrounding it. Neither were an issue. The staff was as good (meaning great) as any Marriott I’ve stayed at recently and we are a high-tier level. Staff was accommodating and kind and I believe if you are polite and kind, they will do what they can to help. The neighborhood is gentrifying but I found the people surrounding the hotel safe and just trying to live-in short, you need to be aware of your surroundings here but you do in any major city worldwide. Room costs are 50% of rooms in Manhattan. Otherwise enjoy being able to stay so close to Manhattan at a great price!Rooms: Nicely designed, clean and newSafety: The area around the hotel is safe as in any big city, you need to be situationally awareWalkability: Easy 10 minute walk to subway lines , 15 min subway ride to Manhattan.

Appears to have become a illegal migrant shelter. No longer a hotel. There are 1000 bikes outside and children running around at all times. No I don’t want to come to NYC to pay and stay at a homeless shelter .

Called to ask if the hotel has shuttle from the LGA Airport. The front desk answered the call very rudely and said we are not a hotel. The phone number on the website says otherwise. I do not understand. The website says they do have shuttle but I am checking just in case some hotels stop operating shuttle.

The hotel is very worn and in much need of updating. We had a 2 bedroom suite. The carpet had all kinds of stains, the couch was very worn and stained, curtain were not on the hooks, holes in the walls, etc. We pulled sheets off the bed to cover the couch for fear of what was on the couch. And no way would we walk barefoot. The front desk person was very nice but had no help for the long line of guests checking in. I’m a very loyal Marriott customer so very disappointed in this property not meeting the Marriott standards.

Booked a room for the last part of our trip for a burial, after landing in LGA, I received an email, not a phone call, stating my reservation was canceled with NO explanation at all. Called and spoke to a CSR, told me I could have another hotel for $150 more! Asked for a reduction from a Supervisor also told no. Finally got Springhill on the phone and was told it had been taken over by a government contractor. We have never been treated like that from any hotel!

The worst hotel experience EVER. No I take that back, I did stay in a little fleabag motel In Souther Maryland once and I stripped down the bed and found a roach. Other than that, this hotel firmly sits in 2nd place. The front desk staff was slow, unintelligent, and quite uncaring . The manager, although he barely opened his mouth never introduced himself and couldn’t crack a smile. He was shuffling pieces of paper back and forth between his office and the front desk apparently trying to solve an unknown problem as many people looking bewildered waited endlessly. We paid for parking and we were told there was none, and you’ll have to park your car on a busy NYC street. I could go on an on, but the bottom line is…DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL!

It's located in an neighbourhood that doesn't have public transit in its immediate vicinity. You have to walk ~10 mins to get to the 7-train subway or bus stop. Staff were a hit-and-miss. My booking clearly stated that parking was included, yet the staff at check-in profusely said that's not the case. I had to contact Marriott to get it resolved. But the housekeeping staff were very good and prompt. Another major issue I had was the noise level. Even though I stayed on the 5th floor, I could still hear cars buzzing on the street at midnight. Moreover, its proximity to airport means that you will be woken up by departure flights as soon as 6am arrives. I wish they soundproof their rooms (especially the windows) better since it's obvious that their location would have lots of noise. And finally, even though I stayed in a suite, there was nothing provided in the drawer (no plates, cups, knives or forks).

Punchline: expect AC for $470/night? Not here. But you’ll get surly attitude. checked in on a Monday night (US Open started that night). Went to front desk to get either repair or new room, when window AC unit broken on hot August night. Reaction from front desk: a shrug, “management will decide what to do in the morning. Might knock a little of the bill.” Eventually, got maintenance guy to try and turn it on, didn’t work, and then back to the front desk. Front desk: “no rooms” as he checks at least three parties in. Charming.

This place is gross. We moved rooms because the first was disgusting. The second was better except for one massive stain by the front. If it wasn’t for just arriving after a 16 hour flight I would have moved hotels. Definitely don’t recommend staying here.

The rooms are HUGE but they smell musty and like they've been spayed with a deodorizer. Carpet is a bit worn too. Shuttle does not run after midnight so if you arrive late don't expect one. Front desk was great though. Market is well stocked and a free breakfast.

thought how bad can it be, it's a Marriott, even though we knew the area was not great. This is not up to Marriott standards at all!!! Room had a terrible odor, carpet was disgusting with huge stains on it, found hair on the bed, clearly housekeeping is not up to par with the Marriott brand. We were given another room in the hotel and the same thing! Then the third room, the same disgusting odor and dirty carpets. We called Marriott directly and got a refund but had to drive home after a long flight because there was nothing else available nearby. Front desk person was very nice, tried to accommodate us but the condition of each room was just terrible. Would not recommend at all!!
