“MFTA has been like the heart and soul of the arts and cultures in NYC. This company and staff are great! Thanks the donors that keep donating year after year.❤️??”
“It's a gem in Queens this store. Quality items to purchase but at affordable prices. I found two modern living room chairs for under $200 in excellent condition.
If you are redoing your home decor or just setting up a new place stop by this store to get some incredible finds. Also, check their website for online shopping.
Staff was friendly and helpful too.”
“I’m honestly surprised by the different reviews. I have been coming here since early 2010s. Even found my wedding champagne glasses here last year!
My experience donating or shopping has always been great.
The place does have a mild scent but i think it’s the nature of any thrift store. It’s not bad, it’s just that clutter smell as again..it’s a thrift store with a lot of items”
“It is a wonderful place. I came to this country a year ago and they have not stopped collaborating with us. I have three children and they have always supported us in everything. Miss Jessica is a sweetheart. The pastor, the pastor and all her staff are really nice and meaningful people. collaboration to ?”
“Quite a lot of variety, and comfortable prices.Everyone in the shop was very friendly and helpful.A good selection of tiny and cheap to big and expensive items. A ton of dishes, plates and mugs of different types and in good condition.Located in a really nice place across the street from a lovely cafe (Benny's). There are many other shops nearby, although we didn't find one as great as this one.”
“Why the hell would a convenience store not have a single set of mechanical pencils. Yes, have 30 varients of gel pens and 2 types of wooden pencils but absolutely 0 forms of any mechanical pencils. Also, what store prices a singular fork at 2 bucks. Insane. 1 block away you can get 2 forks for 1 dollar.”
“Prices align more with a higher end cosignment shop in NY but the layout, display, & selection here is quite nice. Many quality items throughout the store + a nice atmosphere. Worth the look for unique items close by.”
“Have been here many times and have bought used baskets, board games, a very nice espresso glass set, very old ornate antique picture frames, and a fabulous beaded gold dress that I've worn on special occasions twice and get the most compliments on! It's a true thrift shop, having a little bit of everything, and all very reasonable priced! I hope this shop survives, it's a gem.”

“I love this shop! Def not to be missed! Tucked in amongst LOTS of Latin food cafes, food trucks, and bakeries, and very lively streets selling just about everything, sits a not so little, not so hidden absolute gem! Aforementioned venues are surely worth the visit to Jackson Heights, but I couldn’t feel more blessed to find El Baratón across the street from our building… it has made getting dressed in lazy mornings so much easier to do when that “1 item” has gone missing, I know I can pop in for a thrifty scarf or a new Zara blazer, or top label 2ndhand staple jeans and tees… or a quirky fur (faux for sure) jacket. Racks of sneakers and flats and boots in great condition- my only 1 complaint- ? they tend to suit smaller sized feet than my average 8’s. Because they are cute. As are the staff and owner, always helpful and the curator/gm/owner- always a doll with stories and style, if you just want to chat! Kids and mens’ stuff too!”
“You can find great stuff but you have to dig. An old school thrift shop that hasn’t gone the way of “pre-loved boutique,” and is still affordable and local. I mostly come for the home accessories and glassware but you can definitely find some great vintage and modern clothing in all sizes.”
“First time going to this location, and really enjoyed it. I love books, and they have a really large selection right at the front of the store. In the back, there is a large selection of clothes, dining ware, and the likes!”
“This is my favorite thrift store of all time. I like that it's big, and you can genuinely find nice items of every category. I mostly go for toys, and video games. They also don't hold the good items to resell online, like other big stores. Thier prices are also great, if you're there for the right deal. Staff is friendly as long as you follow the rules. You have to check your bag before coming in, so don't come if you have a bag you don't feel comfortable leaving with someone else. The best part is that there's a public restroom, and food court right in the same building. You could shop, and end the day with a nice slice of pizza.?”

“The ladies with the white bags on their waists do jump into the new bins, pull out what they consider gold, aka resellables, aka what they image other people want then put their scavenged wares into a shopping cart that lines the walls & covered with a blanket. Its end of times behavior. It’s animals crawling over each other for the crumb. There are arguments, some rough housing. It is easy to steal. Bring gloves, a shopping bag, & although most don’t wear masks, I recommend. There were plenty of nice blankets, handmade quilts, & lace table clothes when I went. It’s $2 something a pound for textiles”
