At the entrance door of the hotel, two blacks are sitting on the chairs and extending their legs towards guests.Ask them where we can check in. They pointed towards far away. The whole lobby area is dirty and messy. The hotel rooms are smelling bad.We heard from friends the hotel is now becoming the residence for jail inmates as per NYC government.Several violent incidents happened in the hotel.

TRAVELS BE WARE!!!!!!This is not a hotel anymore... City of New York has taken this hotel for homeless shelter and for jail inmates that have served time. There has been multiple violent incidents at this place in the entrance and perimeters of the hotel. By jail inmates that are leaving now in the hotel.

I have never stayed at this hotel. I am a resident in the same neighborhood. This hotel was constructed recently. It is beautiful on the outside. Unfortunately hotel manage has decided to house recently released inmates in collaboration with NYC. It is making the neighborhood very unsafe. I wouldn't walking around the vicinity let along booking a room here. I can't emphasize enough. STAY AWAY !!!!

In the last 2 weeks, there have been 2 guns within walking distance of this place. In the past there was petty crime. I hear of protests and messes on the street nearby made by new residents here. It was always odd that Fresh Meadows was getting not 1 but 2 new motels and now the truth has been revealed: state $ paying them to house people otherwise in public housing. Totally fine if they were not a nuisance. The reports of guns shows up on the Citizen app, which locals near and far get. During stressful times of Covid, this has been an added stress for those who enjoyed an otherwise middle-class life in the deep burbs of Queens. See other posters below who also link to the articles and protests going on in July and August 2020, to fact-check our dismay with the monetary gain this motel is getting at the risk and sanity of the thousands of residents, seniors and kids there. Everyone is pointing fingers, but ultimately nothing much has changed in this area but the addn of these hotels. Now there are more loiters and more crime. More bikes stolen all around the area as well. The residents have protested to no avail. I urge people looking to stay here to think twice.

The hotel seems to be getting less up keep than Years before. Lobby smelled like raw sewage. My room wasn’t cleaned well. Toothpaste residue on counter. Towels had holes and bed sheet had holes. No hangers. No clock. Housekeeping entered my room as I was napping!! No knock or identifying themselves the person just walked in!! Front desk was contacted and they looked into it and identified it was the housekeeping manager. Bad business!!Carolina and Robert and the breakfast is the only good thing about this hotel. The two employees were very helpful and addressed my issues. They were very professional and friendly. That’s why I give this hotel 2 stars for great front desk service. Otherwise I give it zero.

This is a hotel to stay at when you don't need an extended stay and you're there for the very basics - a clean bed and a clean bathroom. The rooms, though nice I guess, are extremely small! And my shower did not work, but at least I had hot water and could sit in the tub. I caught that the room wasn't cleaned thoroughly when I saw a prior guest's discarded toothpaste package still in a remote spot on the bathroom floor. It wasn't a horrible stay at all - the HD TV was nice and it was a totally convenient location at the time. Great views (you can even see the Empire State Building) if you're on that side of the hotel.

By far this is the worst experience I have encountered with any hotel. We drove for 14 hours and when we tried to check in early Carolina the manager of the hotel told us to wait 2 hours to see if they can do something. We slept for an additional 2 hours in the car and when we returned she then tells us that there was a fee for early check in. The problem here was not the money because after being in the road all night anyone will do whatever it takes to get a bed. It would've have been more prudent if they had been straight forward from the beginning. The staff didn't have any courtesy what so ever. I DO NOT RECOMMEND!! My entire floor smelled like Marijuana. They charge top dollar but do not deliver the top dollar service that other hotels that charge top dollar offer. Take your money somewhere else. This company doesn't even offer parking for it's customers and instead will stick another 25 dollar per day. Run while you can.

Buried in a residential neighborhood. Modern hotel with well designed modern rooms.with a clean sleek feel. Valet parking is 25 per day unless you can find street parking. Complimentary breakfast is OK. It's served in what feels like a meeting room. Upper floors have a great view of Queens with Manhattan in the distance. Walking distance to shops and eateries.

Wyndham Garden should be ashamed of them selves. They are using their hotel as a halfway house for Rikers inmates released due to Covid 19. This is in a residential neighborhood with small children. There are cigarette butts, used masks and gloves, liquor bottles and food containers littered on neighbors property directly across the street. The new “residents”are all hanging out In front smoking all day. The police are there a few times a week dealing with different issues. This quiet safe neighborhood is no longer thanks to the owners of this hotel! They chose money over the safety and well being of their neighbors, shame on Wyndham Gardens! ????

THE BOTTOM OF THE BARREL! The Mayor of NYC is housing ex cons that were released from Rikers here. If you want to be stalked as you walk in and out or followed to your car then take your chances staying here. You have the ex cons going door to door pretending to be staff checking doors to rob you. Don't leave anything of value, it won't be there when you come back. NOT A SAFE PLACE TO STAY AT ALL!!!!!
