I've been bringing my cars to George and Gary for 30 years. Back in the day, they helped me keep my beater cars on the road. My class of car has slowly and steadily risen, but they've always been knowledgeable and honest. It's a popular and busy shop, so they rarely can help you if you're a walk-in, but I heartily recommend them.

Gary is the best! Saved me $2000+ on having to buy a new catalytic converter and was kind enough to squeeze me in the same day.
Avoid going to a chain like Midas on Central that only care about margins and thought they could scam me into buying an entire new catalytic converter on Saturday. The vibes were way off (red flag #1 - guy told me he's from Brooklyn. People like me who grew up in the Bronx are sus of Brooklyn!) so I aggressively declined and told them I'd find an honest shop (like Hi-Tech) who would weld my flex joint instead and they told me it's illegal now due to the new NYS regulations about catalytic converters and good luck finding a shop that would do it, which I knew was BS.
And I did find a great, honest shop 2 days later after the weekend was over and Gary did an amazing job really quickly! Thanks again! 12/10 would recommend! Sending this shop right now to my family that live in Albany.

These guys are awesome, Ran over something on the road that damaged my skidplate it's a 10min fix tried 3 other mechanics and they all declined claiming they were too busy, They offered to do it between jobs even though they were busy as well, it's the little things!, had them take care of two other things since then and they did a great job but were done under projected time, also were very accommodating with me when I got held up and wasn't able to make my appointment time! This was huge for me since my time is pretty limited! I should also mention they're very reasonably priced. And very direct and informative of everything being done.

4wheel Alignment and NYS vehicle safety inspection. On time. Gary took his time. Did it right. Great customer service. Almost no wait. Proved he is an expert mechanic.

My son recently moved to the area to start a new job and his car broke down. We had it towed late at night to Hi-Tech. I spoke to shop early next morning and car was ready by end of day. Cost of part and labor was reasonable. The quick repair greatly helped lower my son's stress level.

I went there expecting to get my car repaired, but they couldn't diagnose the problem. So they "guessed" what the issue was. I'm sure they do good work, but I was not satisfied. I was very disappointed for how much I paid for no work done to my car. Auto mechanics know how to make money.
