Came here for my brother's wedding. It was beautiful. The buildings, the tent, the scenery. What a great place for a celebration. If you're considering it. Definitely do!

Destination wedding. Rooms vastly different even when priced identically or close . My room : minimal bare and Unacceptable!! Had to go on step stool to get on uncomfortable bed-- a Danger If get up half asleep at night. Bathroom worse! Tiny, ancient Disgusting -estimate sink less than 16 inches by 10 inches ( see pictures)located about 2 feet from ground . They had to play with plumbing to get it so low-- no clue WHY as pant person able to use bed would find sink and shower Impossible .Mirror also substandard , decrepit and Impossible to put on makeup. Cheap stall shower so small that difficult to impossible to shower whole body. Overpriced even if had been half amount charged.. Food mostly mediocre-- many of breakfast items were cold. Pro: Beautiful location-although almost everyone got Lost finding it. Extremely nice staff

Gorgeous location for a weekend destination wedding. The food was terrific. The staff went above and beyond, especially Meghan the bartender. It was a very relaxing location. Short drive to lake. I suggest you pack bottled water, snacks and any adult beverages you want for your room as there is not a store close by at all. Bedrooms aren't the best but overall excellent venue. Loved the cappuccino machine in the main building.

The Carey Insitute hosted one of the best conference I ever attended. This was an over night conference in which I stayed in the Strauss house. My room was simple but nice, clean and we'll decorated. Breakfast, lunch and dinner was served and all meals were of excellent quality. Plenty of food served. Can't wait to go back to another conference here. The facilities have lots of walking and running trails and is located in the very scenic Rensselaerville. I only wish it was sunny for my stay.

I've been using the Carey Institute for Global Good for overnight retreats for the past six years. They are awesome to work with and very accommodating. The food is delicious and their meeting space and outdoor team building is a perfect fit for 40+ people. They also have a great little pub on the property. The best part is, it is a relaxing atmosphere, where a lot work get accomplished.

A wonderful location for a corporate or organizational retreat--spectacular setting adjacent to a huge nature preserve, lovely staff, with the charming village of Rensselaerville just down the hill.
