“The Beekman is widely considered American’s first Inn, a rich history that is beautifully displayed in the Beekman’s main house. Nothing is modern – and that’s perfectly in keeping with the inn older than the country. If you want modern amenities – this isn’t the place for you. But if you want to lean into American history, this is a great spot. Now, the 1979 merger with the Delamater is an odd marriage indeed. The Delamater is something out of Dirty Dancing (more dirty than dancing) – it’s like a 1960’s summer camp and has NONE of the Beekman charm. Make sure your booking exactly which of these products you want.”
