These guys have been a staple in the neighborhood forever. While they have or can get pretty much anything you’d want at a hardware store, their real value is their breadth of knowledge. They can help you troubleshoot almost any problem you could have in your apartment. And when you come in looking for an item, they often ask what you need it for, before presenting a better way of doing what you want done. Friendly, knowledgeable guys. I hope they own the building and don’t have to pay rent so the yuppie transplants and greedy landlords don’t price them out. The day their shop is gone Ridgewood will be a poorer place.

They’re like your uncles - they help ya out and order stuff and always try and get ya the best deal and lower prices.
They do not screw ya over into getting crap ya don’t need.

David and Peter run the best hardware store in the city. I was renovating a house back in 2013 and I was able to save myself a lot of time and money with the advice, knowledge and assistance of these amazing brothers. I moved away in 2017 and all these years later I still think about how great this place is. Thanks for everything Platz.

Every time I come in here the dudes save me from making some boneheaded mistake or buying the wrong thing. I always end up with exactly what I need, even if it wasn’t what I thought I needed, and everything is reasonably priced.
