This place is amazing. The two guys running the store are a gift to humanity. So many hardware stores in NYC are run by dudes who have no idea what they are talking about, and are just looking to make a dime. Not these fellas. They actually can help you. Please note this is not really a self service kind of store. This is a full service place!

Just the nicest, kindest guys imaginable. They will happily spend a half hour troubleshooting and figuring out how to solve your hardware problems, even if you're only buying $5 worth of stuff--and they're always trying to figure out how to sell you even less stuff than you're asking for. People like this make the world a nicer place!

This is my local go-to hardware shop for the last 6+ years. I mostly visit to pick up gardening related items like soil and planter pots, but have also bought screws, bolts, paint, hose adapters and small tools when I needed specific things with guidance. Big box stores may win with quantity and price, but the knowledge and service you get blessed with by visiting here is so worth it.I love the Coast of Maine organic soil they carry. They recommended it the first time I started growing herbs and veggies, and I keep going back for it. They carry bonsai mix as well.Just be patient when it’s crowded, as the store is narrow and the brothers who run this place have a lot to handle!

When my husband says that he’s going to ask “his guys” I know that he means Peter and Dave. They are great. They will give you as much time as you need, don’t try to sell you what you don’t need, are incredibly knowledgeable and helpful and if they don’t know the answer they are honest enough to say so. They will order whatever you need and will take the product back if there is a problem. Can’t say enough good things about them. They are simply the best.

The best, the only hardware store I will go to! They have it all and no one will take more care to help you figure out exactly what your project needs. There is no question too big or small. I owe so much to David for his help through the years. There’s a reason this place has a cult following!!

Fantastic "Old School" family run Hardware store where THEY ACTUALLY KNOW STUFF!!!If you're claustrophobic or insist on being able to self-serve, then you might have issues, but you can walk in, tell them what you're doing and they will find you what you need.

Do not be fooled by the external appearance. Remember the saying all that glitters is not gold. This place is a diamond that has not been polished. Run by the two nicest guys I have ever met in the industry David and Peter will take their time to answer from a point of knowledge and get you everything g you came for. If they do t have it they will send you to someone that does.

Hands down the best hardware store I've ever been to. They have literally everything and will help you get what you need, including taking them time to ask understand the project you're working on and suggesting how to make it happen. A vast selection of tools, hardware, and products including household and gardening supplies. I've never left here empty handed and I always enjoy the owners' can-do approach and efficiency in helping customers. It's easy to see why this place remains a fixture of the neighborhood.
